Szczecin 6 - 2 Koziagóra (387714033)

A brilliantly sunny day had enticed a crowd of 1930 to Stadion Miejski w Szczecinie. Gabriel Omar Alsogaray was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Jérôme Paturel and Ted Kieser. Szczecin decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. The following players had been chosen: Kubisiak - Kozubek, Sieniawski, Grajewski - Bożko, Tyszkiewicz, Puşcău, Brachman, Chlebda - Bagherabadi, Szast.

Koziagóra had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation. They fielded: Lesiak - Kotara, Łada, Żarnowski, Biazik - Sternak, Piecuch, Banasik, Krawczyński - Kobierzyński, Derkiewicz.

Szczecin were mostly trying to use their skill at attacking on the flanks. Several players seemed a little dazed by the warm weather, and were repeatedly tricked by the clever and agile S. Biazik. Slack defending gave Szczecin a chance to take the lead with 15 minutes played, but A. Kozubek's cross from the left flank was fumbled in front of the goal and easily dealt with by the opposition. After 24 minutes of play, B. Tyszkiewicz gave the home team a 1 - 0 lead after an attack coming in from the right. A lot of people in the terraces claimed the penalty resulting in Koziagóra's J. Żarnowski equaliser for 1 - 1 was a mistake by the referee. He did, however, have a very good view of the situation from his position. Koziagóra's R. Sternak gave the visitors a 1 - 2 lead after 28 minutes with a superb strike from the right. With 35 minutes having been played, Szczecin scored to make it 2 - 2. A dribble down the left wing, followed by a shot which took a wicked bounce off a defender resulted in the keeper having no chance. Everyone thought it'd been an own goal, but I. Bożko was marked down as the scorer. The teams went for the halftime break at 2 - 2. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Szczecin, with 59 percent of the ball.

The referee showed Szczecin's A. Grajewski the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Koziagóra were forced into a substitution as M. Łada couldn't continue due to some rough treatment, forcing J. Marchewka to come in off the bench. Szczecin could have put themselves ahead after 62 minutes but B. Tyszkiewicz missed a volley shot on a ball coming in from the right. Szczecin's A. Chlebda was shown a yellow card after 67 minutes for slicing down an opponent. The player down was S. Biazik. The Koziagóra bench looked worried for a while, but in the end he managed to get up. Szczecin took the lead 77 minutes in, as A. Kozubek broke through on the left and put the 3 - 2 shot just beyond the reach of the outstretched keeper. With 79 minutes played, Szczecin put themselves up 4 - 2 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to A. Kozubek, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home. S. Derkiewicz found it hard to catch his breath today in the stifling heat. Szczecin's A. Chlebda increased the lead to 5 - 2, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 81 minutes. Szczecin increased the lead as A. Kozubek struck to make the score 6 - 2 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper. That made three goals for A. Kozubek and he was marked down for the hat trick. At this point, it was obvious that the players of Szczecin lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. F. Kobierzyński of Koziagóra was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. Szczecin claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 60 percent.

P. Bagherabadi performed admirably for Szczecin. A. Kubisiak was a disappointment, however. Koziagóra's top performer was clearly S. Derkiewicz. However, J. Marchewka made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 6 - 2.
