previous 5/10 next 7/10  Wola 0 - 4 Kalesony (387749015)

Dark skies made the crowd of 5435 at W.M Stadium a little nervous, but the rain held off. José Parada was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Fabrizio Grammatico and Selwyn Hoen. Wola tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination. The following players took the field: Selega - Dąbal, Strool, Saukkoriipi, Dobrzycki - Briatore, Nyström, Dembicki, Jörissen - Ivančević, Świerszcz.

Kalesony started off with a 4-5-1 lineup. The following players had been chosen: Rendiles - Tona, Ardila, Gibas, van der Meijden - Walędziak, Frega Natale, Guzmán, Costea, Vikstad - Portulez.

Wola were relying on their ability to counter-attack. The strategy for Kalesony was to use their ability to press. Some quick footwork on the left side of the field 7 minutes into the match left Kalesony's L. Portulez completely free to score. 0 - 1 for the visitors. The Kalesony free kick 22 minutes into the match seemed wasted, as the shot was both short and off target. But was this actually a plan? The ball landed at the feet of M. Vikstad, who was completely unmarked in the box. That's 0 - 2! At this time in the match, Kalesony were using their skill at pressing to successfully stifle the game. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, G. Tona got himself booked. The manager of Kalesony was not happy. Halftime score was 0 - 2. Kalesony claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 65 percent.

The home crowd was not impressed when R. Ardila came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 51 minutes. Kalesony were now up 0 - 3. 58 minutes into the game, R. Guzmán had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came A. Karasti. The Kalesony captaincy was handed to L. Portulez. Kalesony increased their lead after 64 minutes when L. Portulez broke through on the right, upping the score to 0 - 4, much to the home crowd's dismay. By now, the players in Kalesony felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. M. Jörissen of Wola received a yellow card after 71 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. M. Vikstad wanted to play on, but the Kalesony coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 75 minutes into the game by O. Gidon. Kalesony's ability to press all over the field frequently paid dividends. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave W. Walędziak from Kalesony a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 77 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Kalesony, with 63 percent of the ball.

Wola's best player was K. Ivančević. However, J. Dobrzycki made a disastrous appearance. The most dominating Kalesony player was without a doubt L. Portulez. A. Karasti on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 0 - 4.
