Dark skies made the crowd of 8818 at Ziom Arena a little nervous, but the rain held off. Erik Gunnarsson was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Ângelo Evaristo and Oscar Dávila. Obrońcy had chosen a strategic 4-5-1 formation. They fielded: Aerden - Ciepłucha, Kocimski, Deptakiewicz, Latvanen - Hougardy, Kalderon, Daniłowicz, Flórián, Glushkov - Papadias.

Obrońcy were mostly trying to use their skill at attacking on the flanks. R. Glista had a good try after 4 minutes, coming in on a fine move from the left, but the ball went wide. After 24 minutes of play, A. Kalderon gave the home team a 1 - 0 lead after an attack coming in from the right. D. Stamatović came close to levelling the score 28 minutes into the game, as he was set up with a through ball coming in from the left, but his shot hit the post. T. Kosel was called on to replace Obrońcy's V. Glushkov after 31 minutes following a nasty collision. Undaunted, Ciarko managed to tie it all up after 32 minutes, with R. Glista's lucky free kick. The score was 1 - 1. Obrońcy's J. Ciepłucha was shown a yellow card after 33 minutes for slicing down an opponent. Z. Deptakiewicz hit the corner kick straight to the keeper, but it was mishandled, giving Obrońcy's R. Kocimski an easy chance to knock it in for 2 - 1. It was 2 - 1 at the break. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Ciarko, with 54 percent of the ball.

The visiting team's R. Glista was able to score the 2 - 2 equaliser with a header 49 minutes into the match, after some good work on the right. Ciarko's D. Stamatović got himself booked for a foul. A loud groan was heard from the fans of Obrońcy, as J. Ciepłucha left the pitch in too much pain to finish the match. E. Modenesi took his place on the field. D. Stamatović seemed highly inexperienced when, after 64 minutes, he was caught dilly-dallying with the ball and allowed R. Daniłowicz to intercept and strike home the goal for Obrońcy to make the score 3 - 2. Obrońcy's A. Kalderon had an excellent opportunity after 65 minutes, shooting after receiving a pass from the right hand side, but he missed the goal by miles! The Obrońcy players could smell victory in the air. A. Kalderon wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for G. Ginelli after 66 minutes. It might be a while before the fans see Ciarko's D. Šoltes again, after he had to leave the field in great distress at the 66 minute mark. He was replaced by P. Pruba. A. Pastusiak was handed the Ciarko captain's armband. Ciarko had a chance to level the score as P. Pruba suddenly found himself free in the middle of the box with only the keeper to beat, but he misjudged the finish, and only managed to hit the bar. The home side's F. Flórián came close to extending the lead 76 minutes into the game. His shot came in from the right hand side but V. Rynda managed to save it with an unbelievable reaction stop. The visitors' equaliser seemed sure to come after 84 minutes, following a one on one situation around the left hand side of the goal area, but A. Aerden got the best of it, blocking the shot from D. Kielan. Ciarko had most of the ball, with 55 percent of possession.

Obrońcy's best player was R. Daniłowicz. A. Aerden was a disappointment, however. The most dominating Ciarko player was without a doubt D. Budihală. L. Migała on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 3 - 2.
