12000 spectators had come to Stadion Miejski this cloudy day. Antti Pohjamo was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Bart van Grunsven and Kars Kruijt. Warciarze tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination. They fielded: Pszczelar - Degórski, Krygier, Zatyła, Hämmerl - Chorążak, Szulta, Rżanek, Brudło - Kost, Ułasiuk.

A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Goonies. Lineup: Łazuga - Wierzba, Węclewski, Słupecki, Karmazyn - Sommer, Swat, Komenda, Salus - Łaszczewski, Formas.

After 4 minutes, Goonies put themselves up 0 - 1, as W. Wierzba finished off a strike from the left with a real cannonball of a shot. With 5 minutes played, after a good run down the left, D. Brudło went down looking for a penalty after a challenge from the visitors' right fullback, but the referee waved play on, and later warned him for diving. 14 minutes into the match, Warciarze's R. Hämmerl maneuvered his way around the opposition on the left flank, delighting the crowd with his twists and turns. The effort paid off as the ball found the back of the net, evening the score at 1 - 1. Warciarze's M. Krygier had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 17 minutes having been played. P. Ratajski was the replacement. 24 minutes into the match, Goonies nearly took the lead, as F. Łaszczewski broke through on the right. F. Pszczelar made the save, however. R. Kost of Warciarze received a yellow card after 25 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. It was 1 - 1 at the break. Possession in this half belonged to Warciarze, who controlled the ball 59 percent of the time.

With 56 minutes played S. Degórski almost gave the home side the lead with an unexpected free kick set up, but the visitors' J. Łazuga was onto it, grabbing the would be breakthrough ball. Warciarze had to make a substitution after 68 minutes. D. Brudło limped off the field and was replaced by K. Wroński. Warciarze created a good opportunity to score 71 minutes into the match when W. Ułasiuk's hooked ball from the left created a scuffle in front of the goal, and the visitors' defenders had a hard time clearing the ball. The home side put themselves ahead 2 - 1 after 72 minutes courtesy of a breakthrough from W. Ułasiuk, who scored with a stunning volley following a cross from the right wing. Warciarze increased the lead as W. Zatyła struck to make the score 3 - 1 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper. Warciarze enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 62 percent of possession.

Most important Warciarze player was P. Rżanek. F. Pszczelar turned in a dismal performance, however. F. Łaszczewski performed admirably for Goonies. On the other hand, J. Łazuga's play was disheartening. The match ends 3 - 1.
