17-06-2012 11.25
9019 spectators had come to
Szczecin United F.C Arena this cloudy day.
Mirek Nasuta was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Hannes Arumeel and
Patrick Socher.
Szczecin tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination.
Starters: Galicki - Bodziak, Jarguz, Piękoś, Kuliga - Lasko, Rodzik, Kaliski, Bogaczewicz - Bączkiewicz, Golokolosov.
Tychy71 started off with a 4-4-2 lineup.
The following players had been chosen: Ertel - Mastalerz, Siuda, Ciołek, Gwiazdowicz - Szabelski, Kręgiel, Bukalski, Gadomski - Ruta, Siwy.
Some quick footwork on the left side of the field 5 minutes into the match left Tychy71's
M. Ruta completely free to score. 0 - 1 for the visitors.
Szczecin's
M. Lasko made an attempt at equalising 19 minutes into the match, coming in from the right, but the ball hit the post and the defence easily cleared the rebound.
Szczecin's
M. Kaliski put his head to a high ball coming in from the right after 25 minutes, but the ball went wide.
31 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 0 - 2 as
M. Siwy finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick.
Confident in their lead, Tychy71's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it.
M. Bodziak did everything he could to get one back for his Szczecin, but keeper
P. Ertel denied him with a spectacular block.
0 - 2 was the halftime score.
Szczecin had most of the ball, with 52 percent of possession.
After 59 minutes, Szczecin sent a free kick in high over the penalty box. In what looked like a well-rehearsed move, the ball was headed backwards and reached
V. Golokolosov, who had plenty of space to place a well aimed shot - 1 - 2.
The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
M. Kaliski from Szczecin a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 70 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!
L. Gwiazdowicz behaved like an inexperienced youth player after 72 minutes as he gave the ball away to
M. Lasko. Lucky for him though, there was no goal.
Szczecin claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 51 percent.
The most dominating Szczecin player was without a doubt
Ł. Rodzik.
M. Piękoś turned in a dismal performance, however.
Tychy71's top performer was clearly
M. Ruta.
G. Ciołek on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The match ends 1 - 2.
