previous 2/4 next 4/4  Tychy71 2 - 2 ZSRR (388006888)

Clouds darkened the skies at Masarnia as 10350 spectators turned up for the match. Romeo van Gisteren was the appointed referee with assistance provided by André Monnier and Elias Jonas Eichhörnchen. Tychy71 tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination. Starters: Ertel - Mastalerz, Siuda, Ciołek, Gwiazdowicz - Szabelski, Kręgiel, Bukalski, Gadomski - Ruta, Siwy.

ZSRR had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation. They fielded: Iwasieczko - Kornacki, Noweta, Cender, Szulżyk - Krawczyk, Makieła, Dawidczyk, Nykiel - Koziorek, Tarabasz.

ZSRR's D. Nykiel was dominating his wing and kept sending fine balls into the opposition's box - J. Krawczyk managed to volley one of them into the net to make it 0 - 1 after 23 minutes. Tychy71's K. Gadomski put his head to a well placed ball, lifted in from the left, and scored to make the score 1 - 1 with 38 minutes showing on the scoreboard clock. S. Tarabasz came close to putting the visiting team one up 41 minutes into the match, following a solo raid down the middle, but P. Ertel managed to tip the ball to a corner. ZSRR's S. Tarabasz managed to lose the defenders as he advanced down the right wing and scored, putting the visitors ahead after 44 minutes. 1 - 2. The referee showed ZSRR's D. Nykiel the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. 1 - 2 was the halftime score. Tychy71 claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 58 percent.

M. Ruta was just a finger's breadth away from an equaliser for Tychy71 with a strike from the left, but A. Iwasieczko managed to ward the shot off for a corner. Unsportsmanlike behaviour by D. Nykiel rendered him his second booking of the match, and ZSRR had to finish the game with a reduced squad. ZSRR's J. Krawczyk got himself booked for a foul. Following a foul after 72 minutes, Tychy71 got themselves a free kick just outside the penalty area. B. Mastalerz levelled the scoreline - 2 - 2. Possession in this half belonged to Tychy71, who controlled the ball 64 percent of the time.

M. Ruta performed admirably for Tychy71. G. Ciołek was a disappointment, however. The most dominating ZSRR player was without a doubt P. Noweta. However, A. Iwasieczko made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 2 - 2.
