8830 punters turned up at
Chernomorets Arena, and despite threatening clouds on the horizon, no rain came.
Teófilo Luis Geiser was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Ricco Nauer and
Šimon Javorský.
Borgore tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination.
Lineup: Revut - Kopolovets, Durybaba, Shevchik, Derybaba - Kutsyaba, Golopisenko, Susidko, Chumak - Bozhko, Stroenko.
PFCAvangard started off with a 4-4-2 lineup.
Starters: Kuhelniy - Yarmolenko, Tlumak, Altansky, Gubiy - Saprykin, Nevelskoy, Durybaba, Volf - Kosovskiy, Bezrukov.
Borgore had a chance to take the lead after
V. Susidko's dazzling drive up the left, but the opportunity fizzled out as his shot went just over the bar after 8 minutes.
A. Kosovskiy of PFCAvangard received a yellow card after 18 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour.
Borgore had a good opportunity to take the lead as
O. Kutsyaba came up the left side, but he struck the ball weakly and it went straight into the arms of
K. Kuhelniy.
With the clock showing 22 minutes played, a great pass from the defensive line of PFCAvangard resulted in a counterattack that was smoothly brought under control by
Y. Volf in the centre of the opposition's penalty area, but his finish went high.
After several obvious shirt pulling incidents,
G. Durybaba got himself booked. The manager of Borgore was not happy.
Some mind-boggling play by
K. Tlumak almost resulted in a goal for Borgore, but
M. Bozhko's shot rebounded off the post.
30 minutes had elapsed when a great chance for Borgore to take the lead after a good cross from the right found
P. Shevchik alone with the keeper, but he chipped it to the wrong side of the post.
0 - 0 was the score after the first half.
Borgore claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 65 percent.
Coming in from the right, PFCAvangard had a good opportunity to convert on a counterattack after 49 minutes, but
Y. Volf's attempt to finish was easily stopped.
PFCAvangard's
P. Altansky got himself booked for a foul.
A loud groan was heard from the fans of Borgore, as
P. Shevchik left the pitch in too much pain to finish the match.
G. Efimenko took his place on the field.
At 62 minutes played,
E. Golopisenko came in from the right with the intention of giving Borgore the lead, but his rocket of a shot rattled the crossbar.
The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
E. Saprykin from PFCAvangard a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 63 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!
In a fantastic display of determination, Borgore's
M. Bozhko forced himself to his feet, after an opponent viciously knocked him down.
With 71 minutes gone, Borgore had a free kick in a decent position. Despite this being a great chance for a shot, they tried a cheeky move intended to bypass the defence. However,
G. Efimenko did not manage to connect with it cleanly and the ball went out.
The crowd groaned its disapproval when
A. Kopolovets missed a free kick that would have given Borgore the lead after 76 minutes.
Borgore enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 65 percent of possession.
Borgore's top performer was clearly
K. Derybaba.
However,
M. Revut made a disastrous appearance.
The most dominating PFCAvangard player was without a doubt
A. Kosovskiy.
On the other hand,
L. Nevelskoy's play was disheartening.
The match ends 0 - 0.
