Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 7000 to
Uzhhorod Dome.
Edmundo Díaz was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Kalil Ismail and
Ruben de Castellet.
Uzhhorod started off with a 4-4-2 lineup.
Starters: Lebedinskiy - Turevich, Lyopa, Slabak, Galko - Zgura, Stanchuk, Strizhevskiy, Slyusar - Sharifov, Zabranskiy.
Kremenchuk had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation.
The following players had been chosen: Abramov - Vloh, Shevtsov, Malashenko, Sautin - Gurka, Shaykevich, Zhosan, Kharchenko - Povolotskiy, Voskoboynik.
After 13 minutes, Kremenchuk put themselves up 0 - 1, as
K. Voskoboynik finished off a strike from the left with a real cannonball of a shot.
F. Povolotskiy of Kremenchuk seemed to be floating in the air as he elegantly headed in to make the score 0 - 2 after a corner kick that was nicely executed by
O. Vloh.
36 minutes into the match,
K. Sautin came through the middle and almost added to his team's lead, but the shot went wide.
Kremenchuk's
K. Sautin left the field after 37 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was
P. Dobrovolskiy.
P. Dobrovolskiy received some harsh words from his coach after he acted foolishly 39 minutes into the match, probably out of lack of experience, and almost let an opponent score.
After 40 minutes,
N. Slyusar had a good opportunity to reduce the scoreline for Uzhhorod with a chance created through the middle, but wasn't cool enough. The ball went miles over the bar.
It was 0 - 2 at the break.
Uzhhorod claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 53 percent.
K. Kharchenko really should have scored when he was chosen by fate to confront a wide open goal following a great play by
K. Voskoboynik after a corner.
With clinical precision, the cross from winger
K. Kharchenko found its way to
F. Povolotskiy's head, and a screaming header gave Kremenchuk the goal after 65 minutes played. 0 - 3
L. Makarenko was called on to replace Kremenchuk's
K. Kharchenko after 74 minutes following a nasty collision.
P. Shaykevich increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 0 - 4.
After this, you could see that the players of Kremenchuk were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals.
Uzhhorod's
S. Strizhevskiy got himself booked for a foul.
In a fantastic display of determination, Kremenchuk's
O. Abramov forced himself to his feet, after an opponent viciously knocked him down.
Possession in this half belonged to Uzhhorod, who controlled the ball 54 percent of the time.
Uzhhorod's top performer was clearly
V. Zgura.
M. Lebedinskiy turned in a dismal performance, however.
P. Dobrovolskiy performed admirably for Kremenchuk.
O. Abramov was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 0 - 4.
