previous 6/10 next 8/10  Rommeholen 1 - 3 Draggen (388103217)

The 71996 spectators at Nya Guldgruvan were in for an afternoon of sunshine. William Magufuli was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Stefan Boormans and Rubén Zapatero. The derby had been the talk of Dalarna all week and fans of both teams could be seen throughout the stadium. Rommeholen had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. The following players took the field: Gertsch - Capatonda, Narváez Barón, Brozius - Giovannini, Jacobsson, Maza, Pellerin, Ovesen - Szajowski, Vinther.

Draggen tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. Starters: Grassia - Lucia, Raya, Anastasović - Svendsen, Zalluhoğlu, Viziteu, Aubourg, Vladimirovski - Gustavsson, Silvennoinen.

Several players seemed a little dazed by the warm weather, and were repeatedly tricked by the clever and agile R. Silvennoinen. A penalty was given after 23 minutes, allowing the visitors to gain the lead: 0 - 1. K. Svendsen was the scorer. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave E. Lucia from Draggen a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 24 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! E. Capatonda of Rommeholen seemed to be floating in the air as he elegantly headed in to make the score 1 - 1 after a corner kick that was nicely executed by N. Vinther. Draggen took the lead after K. Svendsen curved a free kick into the net. 1 - 2 The home crowd cheered when, after 39 minutes, E. Lucia's charge up the middle resulted in the keeper making one of his best saves of the day. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 2. Draggen had most of the ball, with 51 percent of possession.

Draggen increased their lead after 52 minutes when V. Vladimirovski broke through on the right, upping the score to 1 - 3, much to the home crowd's dismay. After 60 minutes, Rommeholen used a short break in the game to take new instructions from their coach. C. Pellerin found it hard to catch his breath today in the stifling heat. The Rommeholen players listened closely to their manager, as he gave new tactical instructions for the team. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Draggen, with 51 percent of the ball.

The most dominating Rommeholen player was without a doubt M. Szajowski. A. Gertsch on the other hand, had a terrible day. Draggen's best player was M. Gustavsson. However, P. Raya made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 1 - 3.
