For their match strategy, skäggos had decided to use their ability to counter-attack whenever possible.
At 8 minutes played,
F. Hansson came in from the right with the intention of giving KBBK the lead, but his rocket of a shot rattled the crossbar.
Slack defending gave KBBK a chance to take the lead with 13 minutes played, but
M. Olenbom's cross from the left flank was fumbled in front of the goal and easily dealt with by the opposition.
KBBK took the lead 14 minutes into the game by 1 - 0, as
M. Hadebe elegantly received a long range pass through the middle, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar.
I. Dincă got left behind when KBBK's
F. Hansson made a sudden run forward after 16 minutes, finishing off with a neat strike. 2 - 0!
After 21 minutes,
O. van Kas sent the corner kick right to
M. Albrecht who headed it sharply past the keeper. 2 - 1!
Cheers filled the stadium as
J. Dehlhall broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 3 - 1 to KBBK.
After 31 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by
J. Olmedilla might have resulted in another goal for KBBK. However,
M. de Broqueville made a spectacular save.
Halftime score was 3 - 1.
KBBK claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 73 percent.
KBBK managed to extend their lead to 4 - 1 when
F. Prechtl cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper.
KBBK solidified their lead at the 48 minute mark, as
E. Wallskog dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 5 - 1.
By now, the players in KBBK felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward.
The rain made it hard for players like
F. Prechtl to show their technical control of the ball on this soggy day.
KBBK's
J. Dehlhall increased the lead to 6 - 1, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 50 minutes.
The referee showed KBBK's
C. Laveggi the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge.
A loud groan was heard from the fans of skäggos, as
I. Shischenko left the pitch in too much pain to finish the match.
B. Vermeiren took his place on the field.
KBBK's
F. Hansson had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 63 minutes having been played.
M. Leijonsjö was the replacement.
KBBK increased the lead as
M. Leijonsjö struck to make the score 7 - 1 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper.
KBBK had most of the ball, with 75 percent of possession.
The most dominating KBBK player was without a doubt
M. Olenbom.
On the other hand,
F. Prechtl's play was disheartening.
Most important skäggos player was
M. de Broqueville.
I. Dincă was a disappointment, however.
