The weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 60047 had shown up at Samuraj BK(r) Arena for the match. A 5-3-2 alignment was the formation of choice for David. They fielded: Gripenhall - Cedermo, De Praeter, Sashevskiy, Krättli, Gustavsson - Klanidis, Selskog, Cornuel - Özgenç, Jungvirt.

Some great play up the middle by Samuraj led to a chance for L. Zetterstedt to score after 25 minutes, but the shot hit the crossbar. Samuraj took the lead after 27 minutes as a result of T. Mårtensson's peach of a shot from the right hand side of the box - placed beautifully in the top corner. 1 - 0. Samuraj's J. Teller saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 28 minutes. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave L. Cedermo from David a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 29 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! Unfortunately for Samuraj, Ö. Rahmstedt was injured when the game became more physical, and he had to leave the field. M. Christiansson replaced him. After 32 minutes, T. Nissblad put Samuraj ahead 2 - 0 when he rose to head in a cross from the right wing. The referee showed David's D. De Praeter the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Samuraj increased the lead as T. Ulfsson struck to make the score 3 - 0 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper. By now, the players in Samuraj felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, A. Säfström got himself booked. The manager of Samuraj was not happy. The teams went for the halftime break at 3 - 0. Samuraj claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 65 percent.

After a short break after 50 minutes, Samuraj seemed to change their tactical approach a bit. E. Sashevskiy sailed high above the opponents as he headed in a corner kick from J. Jungvirt after 69 minutes of play, making the score 3 - 1. After 78 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and T. Mårtensson gave the Samuraj supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 4 - 1. Samuraj managed to extend their lead to 5 - 1 when R. Billman cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper. David's E. Sashevskiy had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 84 minutes having been played. G. Grote was the replacement. Samuraj's Y. Ngidi increased the lead to 6 - 1, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 85 minutes. Samuraj put themselves up 7 - 1 when M. Christiansson broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake. Samuraj's R. Billman was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 88 minutes. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Samuraj, with 65 percent of the ball.

The most dominating Samuraj player was without a doubt L. Zetterstedt. A. Säfström turned in a dismal performance, however. David's top performer was clearly G. Grote. T. Gripenhall was a disappointment, however. The match ends 7 - 1.
