It was an exceptionally sunny day for the crowd of 61497 that came out to
Buren.
Urmas Menčinskis was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Michael Riis Jeppesen and
Jan-Piet Noordam.
The derby had been the talk of
Stockholm all week and fans of both teams could be seen throughout the stadium.
Artrítico tactics involved an interesting 3-4-3 combination.
The following players had been chosen: Cârstea - Gottarelli, Sørloth, Amici - Wenjack, Olsson, Sörensson, Brandenweg - Jędruszko, Ruggieri, Cavini.
Scorers started off with a 4-4-2 lineup.
Starters: Ferreira - Gerhardsson, Hillinger, Özçevik, Törnbrant - Stiggård, Lind, Månsson, Pajot - Persson, Pater.
Scorers clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could.
2 minutes into the match and the home team took a 1 - 0 lead after breaking through on the left. The scorer for Artrítico was
L. Ruggieri.
N. Brandenweg's technique was perfect on this sunny day and led to some breathtaking tricks that bamboozled the defence.
Scorers's
A. Persson has the wonderful ability to create chances out of thin air. 22 minutes into the match he bamboozled a couple of opposition defenders before sending the keeper the wrong way and sidefooting the ball home into an empty net. That totally unexpected burst of flair made it 1 - 1.
With 23 minutes played
Z. Jędruszko almost put the home team one ahead on a cross coming in from the right, but the shot went just wide.
Down the middle came
R. Hillinger, making a fantastic play that nearly had Scorers take the lead after 29 minutes, but
I. Cârstea preserved the tie.
A. Amici caused the crowd to go mental with his goal up the middle after 30 minutes. This gave Artrítico the 2 - 1 lead.
C. Wenjack made a nice dash down the wing after 31 minutes, but was unable to get the cross into the box. A goal kick was awarded.
A. Sörensson unleashed a swerving effort from the right that the visitors' keeper did well to tip wide.
2 - 1 was the score after the first half.
Artrítico had most of the ball, with 64 percent of possession.
After 66 minutes, Scorers switched
R. Hillinger with
H. Taivalkoski, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch.
The Scorers players listened closely to their manager, as he gave new tactical instructions for the team.
Artrítico's
N. Brandenweg saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 67 minutes.
Things were deteriorating for the away team as Artrítico scored another to make it 3 - 1 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for
Z. Jędruszko after 68 minutes.
C. Cavini could have put Artrítico up one more, but he fired into the side netting after breaking free on the left after 74 minutes.
Scorers had a great opportunity to score following a counterattack after 75 minutes, but
C. Pater's shot from the left sailed high over the bar.
Artrítico's
N. Brandenweg increased the lead to 4 - 1, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 79 minutes.
Confident in their lead, Artrítico's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it.
C. Cavini should probably have put his team up another goal after 81 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by
J. Ferreira kept the visitors in the game.
Possession in this half belonged to Artrítico, who controlled the ball 64 percent of the time.
Most important Artrítico player was
N. Brandenweg.
On the other hand,
C. Cavini's play was disheartening.
Scorers's top performer was clearly
H. Taivalkoski.
P. Månsson was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 4 - 1.
