Clouds darkened the skies at Wojne Wallen as 29406 spectators turned up for the match. Nik van der Giessen was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Valdas Baltakis and Nicolas Sommerfeldt. Hägerstad decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. 0 - 1 was the score with 11 minutes played, after A. Casares cut through the central defence and chipped home a goal for Torskarna. Hägerstad's J. Robal was shown a yellow card after 12 minutes for slicing down an opponent. A loud groan was heard from the fans of Torskarna, as B. Carboni left the pitch in too much pain to finish the match. B. Johansson took his place on the field. With 30 minutes having been played, Hägerstad scored to make it 1 - 1. A dribble down the left wing, followed by a shot which took a wicked bounce off a defender resulted in the keeper having no chance. Everyone thought it'd been an own goal, but E. López was marked down as the scorer. The celebrations in the stands could only mean one thing - E. López's free kick had found the back of the net and put Hägerstad ahead 2 - 1! After 37 minutes, the visitors levelled the scores after M. Hommes made it through the middle and struck home to make it 2 - 2. Down the middle came A. Casares, making a fantastic play that nearly had Torskarna take the lead after 38 minutes, but G. de Carvalho preserved the tie. The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to P. Comtet, but the Hägerstad player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 3 - 2! 3 - 2 was the score after the first half. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Hägerstad, with 51 percent of the ball.

After 60 minutes, Torskarna used a short break in the game to take new instructions from their coach. The Torskarna players listened closely to their manager, as he gave new tactical instructions for the team. The Hägerstad players could smell victory in the air. M. Andreoli wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for H. Berg after 70 minutes. Although the whole team were struggling to impress, Torskarna's E. Ovando was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 75 minutes. S. Bielawiec was given a chance to change things around. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. V. Meysenbug squirmed through their central defence after 76 minutes, increasing the lead to 4 - 2. At this point, it was obvious that the players of Hägerstad lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. G. de Carvalho made a brilliant save 80 minutes into the match, blocking a rocket of a shot from B. Johansson on the right hand side. After 81 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by J. Barata might have resulted in another goal for Hägerstad. However, I. Freding made a spectacular save. With 83 minutes played, B. Johansson of Torskarna fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. Hägerstad enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 52 percent of possession.

Hägerstad's best player was J. Barata. G. de Carvalho on the other hand, had a terrible day. L. Thoresen performed admirably for Torskarna. However, B. Johansson made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 4 - 2.
