Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for Gizzlar. A mistake by the home side's central defence after 8 minutes allowed A. Torsson to score for Gizzlar. The scoreboard now read 0 - 1. 10 minutes into the match, Almby's N. Wickling maneuvered his way around the opposition on the left flank, delighting the crowd with his twists and turns. The effort paid off as the ball found the back of the net, evening the score at 1 - 1. Almby were very close to putting themselves one up after 27 minutes as V. Černý got through on the left, but failing in concentration, he shot the ball wide. The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to G. Simensen, but the Almby player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 2 - 1! Coming through the middle A. Torsson almost scored the equaliser for Gizzlar after 31 minutes, but D. Diaferia made an excellent save, tipping the awkwardly curled shot past the post. With 32 minutes played, V. Černý could have brought this one home for Almby as he charged up on the left, but his hooked ball went just a bit too high. 36 minutes in, Almby's G. Simensen received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. 37 minutes into the match, L. Nagy could have extended the lead, but his powerful free kick went just over the bar. The teams went for the halftime break at 2 - 1. Almby had most of the ball, with 61 percent of possession.

Gizzlar had a chance to level the score as U. Cvetković suddenly found himself free in the middle of the box with only the keeper to beat, but he misjudged the finish, and only managed to hit the bar. E. Almoiña left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 66 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. C. Comito was the replacement. After 70 minutes, Gizzlar switched B. Wiesel with T. Charlotten, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch. G. Simensen should probably have put his team up another goal after 72 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by S. Matos kept the visitors in the game. Although the whole team were struggling to impress, Gizzlar's H. Zetterner was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 75 minutes. V. Ballesteros was given a chance to change things around. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. N. Wickling squirmed through their central defence after 75 minutes, increasing the lead to 3 - 1. V. Černý didn't pace himself at all, and after a series of daring offensive runs he was too tired to help out in the defensive play. T. Eggstedt's technique was perfect on this sunny day and led to some breathtaking tricks that bamboozled the defence. Almby's R. Farsi's long shot really ought to have found the net 86 minutes into the match, but it fell just wide of the target. Almby claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 58 percent.

The most dominating Almby player was without a doubt V. Černý. L. Nagy was a disappointment, however. A. Nok performed admirably for Gizzlar. However, S. Matos made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 3 - 1.
