Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 34368 to Nisse Park. united clearly preferred using their ability to attack in the middle. Bennys tried to focus their attacks down the middle. Having been awarded a free kick in an awkward position after 3 minutes, united did not go for a shot but instead fired the ball hard into the 6 yard box. After a brief tussle with his marker, M. Tóbiás was able to power the ball past the keeper to make the score 1 - 0. Bennys's U. Gottbom got himself booked for a foul. Due to a severely mistimed tackle, L. Sjöskär of united spent some time on the grass writhing in agony before he could get up and continue the game. Bennys were close to putting the equaliser away after 21 minutes as the opposing defence lost control of the ball to U. Gottbom in a scuffle towards the left of the goal, but in the end the ball was cleared over the dead ball line. united's S. Tungland increased the lead to 2 - 0, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 22 minutes. The players of united now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. The teams went for the halftime break at 2 - 0. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Bennys, with 52 percent of the ball.

58 minutes in, an amazing pass from the left side resulted in a goal for the visitors, as D. Ragner anticipated the through ball and scored, reducing the deficit to 2 - 1. united were determined to attack in the middle, even their wing attacks ended up centrally. D. Ragner made a good effort at breaking through on the right, but the home team's left defence cleared the ball to a corner. 80 minutes into the match united's M. Tóbiás head butted an opponent nastily, and so the referee sent him off immediately. A loud groan was heard from the fans of Bennys, as R. Rendahl left the pitch in too much pain to finish the match. A. Olofsson took his place on the field. After 82 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by F. Philipsen might have resulted in another goal for united. However, L. Åhlen made a spectacular save. united enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 51 percent of possession.

united's top performer was clearly E. Sarıer. J. Börjesson on the other hand, had a terrible day. Most important Bennys player was C. Lobo. D. Ragner turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 2 - 1.
