André Carinaldi and
Aukusti Särkkä.
Fotbolls started off with a 3-5-2 lineup.
The following players took the field: Barán - Kotane, Pörsson, Irbom - Landin, Laas, Falkenner, Aspenhall, Robertsson - Radeski, Thyholt.
BTT had chosen a strategic 2-5-3 formation.
Lineup: Maúrtua - Huunonen, Chaidas - Cecchini, Gehringer, Gruev, Beznosenko, Volders - Ruscitti, Huopolainen, Malbrán.
BTT saw most attack opportunities on the wings.
Fotbolls took the lead 25 minutes in, as
O. Laas broke through on the left and put the 1 - 0 shot just beyond the reach of the outstretched keeper.
R. Gehringer finished off a quick charge from the left of the field by chipping the ball just past the home side's keeper, making the score 1 - 1 30 minutes into the match.
Fotbolls took the lead 35 minutes into the game by 2 - 1, as
S. Pörsson elegantly received a long range pass through the middle, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar.
36 minutes into the game, BTT had difficulty finding their positions and their organisation dropped to
weak.
After 42 minutes, the visitors levelled the scores after
J. Huopolainen made it through the middle and struck home to make it 2 - 2.
H. Volders made one of his many fine passes from the wing into the middle 42 minutes into the match.
G. Cecchini bravely attempted to execute a diving header and the ball was met firmly with his forehead for BTT. 2 - 3.
It was 2 - 3 at the break.
Fotbolls claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 51 percent.
The coach gave his players an extra tactical briefing during the break, and after that BTT had
passable organisation.
50 minutes into the match, Fotbolls's
A. Thyholt maneuvered his way around the opposition on the left flank, delighting the crowd with his twists and turns. The effort paid off as the ball found the back of the net, evening the score at 3 - 3.
After some beautiful movement down the left wing,
M. Radeski scored for Fotbolls putting them ahead 4 - 3, after 73 minutes.
With 78 minutes played,
A. Huunonen of BTT fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving.
BTT levelled the score after 81 minutes to make it 4 - 4, as
J. Huopolainen struck home after a fine midfield combination through the centre, which left him completely unmarked.
BTT had a good opportunity to attack in the middle, but remembered their instructions to focus on wing attacks instead.
This was a good period for the visitors, with several opportunities to take the lead, particularly when
G. Cecchini slipped through the defence on the right to come up alone against
J. Barán, but the home side's keeper showed his lightning reflexes.
BTT had most of the ball, with 54 percent of possession.
A. Thyholt performed admirably for Fotbolls.
However,
O. Laas made a disastrous appearance.
Most important BTT player was
B. Malbrán.
On the other hand,
A. Huunonen's play was disheartening.
