49862 punters turned up at
The Great Saloon, and despite threatening clouds on the horizon, no rain came.
Nik Šabič was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Bo Linmar and
Romain Freitag.
Vottem had chosen a strategic 5-3-2 formation.
Starters: Busschop - Bavelaar, Dagorne, Van Bael, Belsö, Cederhult - Rogge, Coryn, Gonidis - Coito, van de Mortel.
Gentbrugge decided to use a 5-3-2 set up.
The following players had been chosen: Marchesini - El-Hamdan, Nõu, Tasoglou, Pettersson, Herre - Paniagua, Sušac, 凱杰 (Kaijie) - Seabra, Berner.
Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for Gentbrugge.

M. El-Hamdan completely free to score. 0 - 1 for the visitors.
31 minutes into the game, Gentbrugge had difficulty finding their positions and their organisation dropped to
passable.
No matter how hard he tried,
Y. van de Mortel just couldn't get his shot past the visitors' right side defence after 32 minutes.
Gentbrugge's defence sent a ball soaring up the middle on a beautiful counterattack with 33 minutes gone, but
R. Berner's finish was met by the reaching hands of the keeper.

By now, the players in Gentbrugge felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward.
N. Gonidis challenged the visitors' central defence eagerly, producing a good chance 44 minutes into the game as he went for a through ball. But, as so many times before, the guests' defensive efforts got the best of it.
After 44 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as Gentbrugge found themselves out of position and their organisation level dropped to
poor.

passable organisation.

Y. Tasoglou's knee will be throbbing for days, but thankfully for Gentbrugge, he bravely continued in the match.

The most dominating Vottem player was without a doubt
S. Busschop.
M. Coito was a disappointment, however.
