The weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 30957 had shown up at Highbury for the match. Vladan Páral was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Stephan Gerlach and Rodolphe Reinohl. stanus started off with a 3-4-3 lineup. 2 minutes into the match, 30STM nearly took the lead, as T. Jespers broke through on the right. J. Vangucht made the save, however. The visiting T. Hansson was booed thoroughly by the home crowd 27 minutes into the game, after he broke through the middle and scored, resulting in the visitors taking the lead. 0 - 1 was the score. It was 0 - 1 at the break. 30STM had most of the ball, with 51 percent of possession.

stanus's C. Bertrem put his head to a well placed ball, lifted in from the left, and scored to make the score 1 - 1 with 57 minutes showing on the scoreboard clock. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, M. Crabbé got himself booked. The manager of stanus was not happy. J. Garzón always provides an aerial threat at corners, and with 65 minutes gone, he demonstrated this, outjumping his marker, then letting out an anguished howl as his powerful header went narrowly wide. The 30STM free kick 71 minutes into the match seemed wasted, as the shot was both short and off target. But was this actually a plan? The ball landed at the feet of T. Jespers, who was completely unmarked in the box. That's 1 - 2! The home crowd was not impressed when D. Paegle came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 76 minutes. 30STM were now up 1 - 3. The home crowd was given a certain amount of consolation when C. Bertrem scored after a brilliant midfield combination through the centre, reducing the lead to 2 - 3. T. Jespers was, after 83 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper J. Vangucht made the save. 30STM enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 53 percent of possession.

The most dominating stanus player was without a doubt T. Kassoka. C. Bertrem turned in a dismal performance, however. 30STM's top performer was clearly B. von Weshphalen. D. Paegle on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 2 - 3.
