Weather conditions were fairly good for football, and Nightmare Arena saw a crowd turnout of 30354. Racing took the lead after 30 minutes making the score 0 - 1. A. Robijns placed the ball out of reach for the home side's keeper after a fine move, coming in from the left. Bettocchi fell awkwardly, but was determined to stay in the match. That's the spirit! The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 3. Racing had most of the ball, with 64 percent of possession.

R. Le Paih finished off the counterattack of Racing from the left rather easily, making the score 0 - 4. Racing's C. Falque was shown a yellow card after 65 minutes for slicing down an opponent. D. Buyck got a fingertip on M. Vleugels's shot from the left 66 minutes in, and managed to keep the visitors from going up another goal. The bench was restless, and with 76 minutes passed Dark's coach gave F. Borreman the opportunity the player had been hoping for. K. Chrisafidis reluctantly left the field. Racing claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 62 percent.

Dark's best player was J. Walsh. B. Varano turned in a dismal performance, however. The most dominating Racing player was without a doubt M. Vleugels. However, R. van Aalderen made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 0 - 4.
