Homies 0 - 3 Ganshoren
(388537593)

19-08-2012 13.00
Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 38240 at
Westside today.
Paco Pappeln was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Andrej Zemann and
Per Håkansson.
Homies tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination.
The following players had been chosen: Lantoine - Adomeit, Santana, Sanmartin - Di Marco, Elterlein, Belsué, Fedosin, Vrbský - Janz, Oliyai.
Ganshoren decided to use a 3-4-3 set up.
The following players took the field: Petit - Yelpo, Liévano, Raeisi - Le Page, Demarcke, Oks, Barzin - Buller, Dioukhane, Haesendonck.
Ganshoren were mostly trying to use their skill at attacking on the flanks.
After the game, the most discussed event will probably be the penalty given after 17 minutes that gave the visitors the 0 - 1 lead. Despite the controversy,
E. Liévano struck home the penalty, as cool as anything.
Homies's
K. Elterlein had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 25 minutes having been played.
J. Žitko was the replacement.
The cannonball from 35 metres by
J. Barzin of Ganshoren was an impressive sight, but didn't make it into the net.
Players in Ganshoren heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their central attacks to the wings instead.
B. Buller finished off the counterattack of Ganshoren from the left rather easily, making the score 0 - 2.
With 38 minutes played, seemingly due to lack of experience,
J. Žitko needlessly tripped an opponent just outside the penalty area, but the free kick that followed didn't succeed.
0 - 2 was the halftime score.
Homies had most of the ball, with 53 percent of possession.
J. Belsué did everything he could to get one back for his Homies, but keeper
N. Petit denied him with a spectacular block.
After 69 minutes, Ganshoren sent a free kick in high over the penalty box. In what looked like a well-rehearsed move, the ball was headed backwards and reached
R. Le Page, who had plenty of space to place a well aimed shot - 0 - 3.
After 78 minutes,
J. Vrbský had a good opportunity to reduce the scoreline for Homies with a chance created through the middle, but wasn't cool enough. The ball went miles over the bar.
The home side worked hard to get through the middle and as a result, had a good chance of getting one back as
J. Adomeit tried lifting the ball over keeper
N. Petit. Unfortunately, the ball went just over the bar.
Homies enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 55 percent of possession.
W. Janz performed admirably for Homies.
J. Žitko was a disappointment, however.
The most dominating Ganshoren player was without a doubt
B. Buller.
N. Petit on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The match ends 0 - 3.
