previous 5/10 next 7/10  Buffalo 1 - 2 INTERFISCAL (388538524)

34612 spectators arrived at arteveldestadium, where weather conditions were pretty good for football. Brian Pearson was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Théodore Chrétien and Olaf Jan Neumayer. Buffalo tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. Starters: Zbíral - Zeltzer, Fiorese, Jansson - Eldin, Segarra, Stoklossa, Camilli, Wikliński - Bermejo, Benet.

INTERFISCAL decided to use a 3-4-3 set up. The following players had been chosen: Herráiz - Arbel, Huacho, Vukelja - Perilli, Pichler, Walk, Oiarzabal - Mujcanovic, Delman, Kusk.

Buffalo clearly preferred using their ability to attack in the middle. INTERFISCAL seemed to prefer attacking in the middle. Central attacks were the recipe of the day for INTERFISCAL, as they moved the ball from the wings to the middle with startling regularity. INTERFISCAL were great at switching from defence to attack, and after 10 minutes, J. Walk swept through the middle on a counterattack, making the score 0 - 1. Buffalo's R. Segarra soared above the crowd, but couldn't knock the corner home 20 minutes into the match. 21 minutes into the game, INTERFISCAL worked the left side industriously creating several opportunities to add to their lead, but just couldn't apply the finishing touch. It was 0 - 1 at the break. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Buffalo, with 62 percent of the ball.

It was obvious that team INTERFISCAL had instructions to attack in the middle instead of on the wings. The goal to make it 1 - 1 was scored by C. Fiorese after 58 minutes, following an opportunistic counterattack down the middle by Buffalo. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave E. Kusk from INTERFISCAL a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 60 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! Unfortunately for Buffalo, G. Zeltzer was injured when the game became more physical, and he had to leave the field. E. Zahurančík replaced him. 1 - 2 was the score with 64 minutes played, after A. Perilli cut through the central defence and chipped home a goal for INTERFISCAL. 69 minutes into the game, A. Bermejo came close to levelling the score with a dangerous shot from the centre of the area that went just over the bar. E. Kusk knew he was in trouble after hacking down an opponent. Despite his pleading with the referee, the INTERFISCAL player was shown a second yellow card and dismissed from the game. Possession in this half belonged to Buffalo, who controlled the ball 62 percent of the time.

The most dominating Buffalo player was without a doubt A. Bermejo. M. Wikliński on the other hand, had a terrible day. INTERFISCAL's top performer was clearly M. Huacho. However, B. Vukelja made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 1 - 2.
