UZ's J. Vander Taelen swung in a good chance from the left, but the visitors' defence were able to clear the ball. 63 minutes were showing on the scoreboard when UZ's T. Brandão received his second yellow card and was sent off. slashshooters were forced into a substitution as W. Rzepecki couldn't continue due to some rough treatment, forcing D. Malmilyan to come in off the bench. With 66 minutes played, O. Perin could have brought this one home for UZ as he charged up on the left, but his hooked ball went just a bit too high. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave N. Vanca from slashshooters a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 75 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! In a fantastic display of determination, UZ's J. De Grijse forced himself to his feet, after an opponent viciously knocked him down. Coming from the right, C. Almirall almost managed to score another goal for UZ, but his header was tipped over the bar by the visitors' keeper. N. Vanca knew he was in trouble after hacking down an opponent. Despite his pleading with the referee, the slashshooters player was shown a second yellow card and dismissed from the game. Due to a severely mistimed tackle, P. Van Wesemael of UZ spent some time on the grass writhing in agony before he could get up and continue the game. 82 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as M. Collard broke through, making the score 2 - 0 for UZ. slashshooters's D. Malmilyan got himself booked for a foul. R. Kurrer was called on to replace UZ's G. Wullens after 86 minutes following a nasty collision. UZ had most of the ball, with 68 percent of possession.
