d r p used their ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings. cuzi displayed their ability to play creatively. 10 minutes into the match, d r p's J. Soetaert demonstrated his famed speed as he raced past his marker and passed the ball to R. Chantrenne who chipped it in for 1 - 0. A crazy pass by J. Seehaus towards his own keeper almost caused a goal for d r p, but J. Soetaert didn't get the finish right. d r p put in a good effort on the right, but R. Chantrenne saw his volley fly wide of the mark 36 minutes into the game. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave D. Foulon from d r p a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 40 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! 1 - 0 was the halftime score. d r p had most of the ball, with 75 percent of possession.

cuzi's J. Lagrange got himself booked for a foul. The player down was D. Laudrup. The d r p bench looked worried for a while, but in the end he managed to get up. It was obvious that team d r p had instructions to attack in the middle instead of on the wings. 75 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as M. Crochet broke through, making the score 2 - 0 for d r p. By now, the players in d r p felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. The home side's R. Chantrenne came close to extending the lead 81 minutes into the game. His shot came in from the right hand side but F. Gamboa managed to save it with an unbelievable reaction stop. d r p claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 72 percent.

d r p's top performer was clearly V. Guerreschi. On the other hand, J. Soetaert's play was disheartening. cuzi's best player was G. Guschelbauer. J. Lagrange on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 2 - 0.
