Bakkli increased the lead to 3 - 0, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 59 minutes. By now, the players in Willem felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. Willem were given a gift! The ref dubiously awarded them a penalty 73 minutes into the match, which was neatly put away by K. Vandeput. 4 - 0 for the home side. 83 minutes in, Sterrebeek's K. De Greef received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. Willem were forced into a substitution as C. Cazaux couldn't continue due to some rough treatment, forcing J. Valschaerts to come in off the bench. 86 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as Z. Donadei broke through, making the score 5 - 0 for Willem. At that, Z. Donadei was noted down for a hat trick! Things were deteriorating for the away team as Willem scored another to make it 6 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for E. D'Hooge after 88 minutes. 88 minutes in, Sterrebeek appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only passable. Willem managed to extend their lead to 7 - 0 when J. Bleijlevens cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper. 89 minutes into the game, Sterrebeek seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a poor level of organisation. Cheers filled the stadium as M. Bongiorno broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 8 - 0 to Willem. Willem claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 84 percent.
