15-07-2012 14.20
The 15175 fans in attendance at
Combat Arena were roasting in the hot sun.
Stanislaw Marona was the appointed referee.
A 2-5-3 alignment was the formation of choice for JEY.
Starters: Vinkenoog - Hayran, Gigolashvili - Elsdijk, Ragued, Pražienka, Roccucci, Bolba - Zodelava, Neuhold, Galbi.
Rstv had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation.
The following players took the field: Bregvadze - Buzaladze, Gigolashvili, Kurtsikidze, Abuseridze - Margaryan, Edisherashvili, Lominadze, Myakshin - Hacıyev, Bujgulashvili.
With 5 minutes played, seemingly due to lack of experience,
B. Lominadze needlessly tripped an opponent just outside the penalty area, but the free kick that followed didn't succeed.
A. Zodelava gave JEY the lead with a beautiful free kick after 11 minutes. 1 - 0!
14 minutes into the game, JEY seemed a little tentative in their play as their organization fell to
poor.
P. Buzaladze could have made it all square after 19 minutes, if only his free kick had been a few inches to the other side of the post.
After 24 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by
V. Elsdijk might have resulted in another goal for JEY. However,
E. Bregvadze made a spectacular save.
Rstv's right side looked dangerous 36 minutes in, but
F. Vinkenoog made a good save on
Z. Hacıyev's hard shot to the top corner.
40 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as
F. Roccucci broke through, making the score 2 - 0 for JEY.
2 - 0 was the halftime score.
JEY claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 55 percent.
A review of the gameplan helped JEY get back to a
passable organisation when the referee blew his whistle again.
With 61 minutes played, JEY put themselves up 3 - 0 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to
C. Bolba, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home.
At this point, it was obvious that the players of JEY lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented.
67 minutes into the game, JEY seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a
inadequate level of organisation.
The intense heat forced
T. Kurtsikidze into making some errors because he couldn't seem to keep up with the others.
After 71 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as JEY found themselves out of position and their organisation level dropped to
inadequate.
JEY's
A. Zodelava saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 74 minutes.
A well-executed free kick by
A. Zodelava after 76 minutes made it 4 - 0 for JEY.
The referee showed Rstv's
B. Lominadze the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge.
A. Zodelava could have increased the lead after 83 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park.
JEY had most of the ball, with 60 percent of possession.
The most dominating JEY player was without a doubt
T. Neuhold.
C. Bolba on the other hand, had a terrible day.
Rstv's top performer was clearly
O. Bujgulashvili.
E. Bregvadze was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 4 - 0.
