31413 fans braved the pouring rain at
AMON.
Miguel Vega was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Anders Johansen and
Moritz Julian Bauschke.
AMON had chosen a strategic 4-5-1 formation.
Starters: Magalhães - Caus, Demeulenare, Totorikagoena, Dimer - Luppi, Bienvenu, Güzay, Zidarov, Urut - Lhomme.
Monacoduk tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination.
Lineup: Mar Zueros - Forgione, Muguruza, Stránský - Kopmaz, Öztarhan, Efsun, Eisenhoffer, Falces - Bùi, Marzuban.
The wings were the focus of most of AMON's attacks today.
M. Güzay didn't let the weather get him down and made some great moves on the pitch in spite of the rain.
AMON created a good opportunity to score 18 minutes into the match when
V. Bienvenu's hooked ball from the left created a scuffle in front of the goal, and the visitors' defenders had a hard time clearing the ball.
AMON were very close to putting themselves one up after 33 minutes as
A. Zidarov got through on the left, but failing in concentration, he shot the ball wide.
D. Demeulenare was very close to giving AMON the lead with an ingenious free kick routine 38 minutes into the match, but the ball just grazed the bar.
Halftime score was 0 - 0.
Possession in this half belonged to AMON, who controlled the ball 57 percent of the time.
There was concern in the stands when, at the 59 minute mark, AMON's
V. Bienvenu hit the ground hard, but he refused the attention of the trainer and rejoined his teammates on the pitch.
AMON took the lead 63 minutes into the match after a magnificent free kick by
D. Demeulenare that made the score 1 - 0.
After several obvious shirt pulling incidents,
B. Urut got himself booked. The manager of AMON was not happy.
AMON's
G. Luppi increased the lead to 2 - 0, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 77 minutes.
M. Güzay behaved like an inexperienced youth player after 78 minutes as he gave the ball away to
G. Eisenhoffer. Lucky for him though, there was no goal.
Players in AMON heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their central attacks to the wings instead.
AMON increased the lead as
S. Totorikagoena struck to make the score 3 - 0 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper.
AMON enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 60 percent of possession.
Most important AMON player was
Q. Lhomme.
M. Güzay turned in a dismal performance, however.
Monacoduk's best player was
J. Muguruza.
On the other hand,
R. Stránský's play was disheartening.
The match ends 3 - 0.
