34574 fans braved the pouring rain at
PEKDEMİR ARENA.
Tomas van der Meer was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Mihail Gyaurov and
Aldo Carajulca.
A 5-4-1 alignment was the formation of choice for PSK.
The following players had been chosen: Szklarek - Christian, Kajege, Oyugun, Giraudet, Maxhuni - Vidanovski, Guiducci, Latrão, Atım - Sofer.
BJK tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination.
They fielded: Taparou - Kruse, Velarde Diez, Rieks - Tayşı, Caeiro, Laval, Tektaş, Firet - Sevilha, Uğuz.
The wings were the focus of most of BJK's attacks today.
22 minutes into the game, PSK seemed a little tentative in their play as their organization fell to
passable.
Thighs bulging,
G. Uğuz charged past the weaker players, seemingly oblivious to the rain.
40 minutes into the game, PSK had difficulty finding their positions and their organisation dropped to
weak.
The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
K. Tayşı from BJK a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 43 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!
O. Laval came close to putting the visiting team one up 43 minutes into the match, following a solo raid down the middle, but
M. Szklarek managed to tip the ball to a corner.
After 44 minutes BJK's
K. Tayşı contracted a slight foot injury, but didn't want to leave the game.
44 minutes into the game,
R. Latrão had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came
Y. Yumlu.
0 - 0 was the score after the first half.
BJK claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 53 percent.
A review of the gameplan helped PSK get back to a
passable organisation when the referee blew his whistle again.
After several obvious shirt pulling incidents,
G. Oyugun got himself booked. The manager of PSK was not happy.
After 72 minutes, BJK's
M. Tektaş made his way through the middle and nonchalantly placed the ball out of the keeper's reach, putting the visitors up 0 - 1.
Content with how the game was proceeding, the BJK coach let
S. Lopez replace
O. Laval after 80 minutes.
PSK had most of the ball, with 55 percent of possession.
PSK's top performer was clearly
J. Giraudet.
On the other hand,
J. Kajege's play was disheartening.
Most important BJK player was
G. Uğuz.
S. Lopez was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 0 - 1.
