The fb-otis fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. After 32 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave B. Secq a chance to increase the lead for fb-otis, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 4. By now, the players in fb-otis felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. After 41 minutes, fb-otis's P. Grèze burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 5. 0 - 5 was the halftime score. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by fb-otis, with 66 percent of the ball.

The home crowd cheered when, after 56 minutes, B. Secq's charge up the middle resulted in the keeper making one of his best saves of the day. Coming in from the right, aşspor had a good opportunity to convert on a counterattack after 57 minutes, but H. Safi's attempt to finish was easily stopped. M. Mukbil came close to extending the visitors' lead when he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal after a pass through the middle. He tried to lift the ball over F. Esin but overcooked it and hit the bar instead. M. Mukbil wasn't much help defensively. His energy-consuming forward runs proved quite costly in the oppressive heat. aşspor's M. Özşahin was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 81 minutes. After the ball was lifted in from the left, P.
