The weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 45244 had shown up at doctor midas staduim for the match. Erik Bootz was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Hugo Dieumegard and Sebastiano Calidoni. UMI decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. The wings were the focus of most of UMI's attacks today. Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for C.D.Arunda. With 15 minutes played J. Álvarez almost put the home team one ahead on a cross coming in from the right, but the shot went just wide. Having turned the direction of play quickly, the C.D.Arunda counter attack ended as the ball carrier was brought down violently by a defender after 16 minutes. The resulting free kick was a flat shot into the area just in front of the keeper. However, the defence were on their toes and did not allow the opponents to reach the ball. 34 minutes had elapsed when a great chance for UMI to take the lead after a good cross from the right found P. Virkkonen alone with the keeper, but he chipped it to the wrong side of the post. 0 - 0 was the halftime score. UMI claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 58 percent.

C.D.Arunda had to make a substitution after 51 minutes. J. Careaga limped off the field and was replaced by V. Tansini. J. Álvarez was very close to giving UMI the lead with an ingenious free kick routine 60 minutes into the match, but the ball just grazed the bar. C.D.Arunda's counterattacks created a good chance for O. Lind on the right after 73 minutes, but he could only look on with dismay as his strike rebounded off the crossbar. There was concern in the stands when, at the 80 minute mark, C.D.Arunda's A. El-Ismail hit the ground hard, but he refused the attention of the trainer and rejoined his teammates on the pitch. UMI enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 60 percent of possession.

W. Kreitmeyr performed admirably for UMI. However, I. Sant'Angelo made a disastrous appearance. The most dominating C.D.Arunda player was without a doubt J. Hyleh. M. Yafi was a disappointment, however. The match ends 0 - 0.
