previous 2/4 next 4/4  Warrior 0 - 3 IFATUC (389260269)

It had rained all day, but 12000 hardy fans still made it out to Sudan Warrior. Ulvi Neveda was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Wouter Roep and Lennart Risblad. Warrior tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination. Starters: Gimoro - Owiny, Owiny, Mawanda, Mamdani - Ssentongo, Ochaya, Tuzinde, Wangusa - Mbabazi, Mwangi-Powell.

IFATUC started off with a 4-4-2 lineup. The following players took the field: Tindyebwa - Okurut, Gonza, Player, Akena - Kibuuka, Mawejje, Bonseu, Babadi - Ssejjemba, Batabaire.

IFATUC showed off their creative tactics. This was a good period for the visitors, with several opportunities to take the lead, particularly when C. Mawejje slipped through the defence on the right to come up alone against R. Gimoro, but the home side's keeper showed his lightning reflexes. IFATUC took the lead after 15 minutes making the score 0 - 1. M. Bonseu placed the ball out of reach for the home side's keeper after a fine move, coming in from the left. No matter how hard he tried, S. Wangusa just couldn't get his shot past the visitors' right side defence after 35 minutes. 41 minutes in, IFATUC's T. Gonza received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. 0 - 1 was the halftime score. Neither team was controlling the possession at this point in the match, with the stats showing a 50:50 split.

P. Owiny seemed highly inexperienced when, after 52 minutes, he was caught dilly-dallying with the ball and allowed F. Batabaire to intercept and strike home the goal for IFATUC to make the score 0 - 2. IFATUC's K. Babadi skillfully knocked a pass over the top after 55 minutes, and that was received by A. Ssejjemba who just managed to slot it past the opposing goalkeeper for 0 - 3. The referee showed Warrior's S. Wangusa the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. With 83 minutes played, L. Mbabazi was very close to reducing the score for Warrior with a low drive from the left, but a defender stuck his foot out just in the nick of time, blocking the shot to a corner. A. Mamdani of Warrior was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. Warrior had to make a substitution after 87 minutes. S. Wangusa limped off the field and was replaced by N. Kayizi. Warrior enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 55 percent of possession.

Warrior's top performer was clearly L. Mbabazi. On the other hand, P. Owiny's play was disheartening. IFATUC's best player was F. Batabaire. S. Tindyebwa on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 0 - 3.
