previous 7/10 next 9/10  Sous-marin 3 - 2 Njeru (389261856)

Clouds darkened the skies at Deep Blue as 12000 spectators turned up for the match. Marlon Stoll was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Ludovic Rouby and Niels Skovfoged. Sous-marin started off with a 4-4-2 lineup. The following players had been chosen: Kayizi - Bajope, Makalama, Player, Lule - Otim, Oryema-Lalobo, Seguya, Mwisaka - Odoch, Lamwaka.

A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Njeru. They fielded: Makalama - Masaba, Lubega Mbidde, Mawaggali, Owiny - Sebina, Lule, Balam, Magumba - Museveni, Kibuuka.

After the game, the most discussed event will probably be the penalty given after 12 minutes that gave the visitors the 0 - 1 lead. Despite the controversy, K. Masaba struck home the penalty, as cool as anything. A tussle 16 minutes into the match resulted in a penalty being awarded to the home team and D. Bajope put the ball into the back of the net without any difficulty. That tied the score up at 1 - 1. The visitors grabbed the lead after K. Masaba's free kick succeeded, resulting in a score of 1 - 2. A handball in the penalty area gave the home team a penalty 26 minutes into the match, and D. Bajope was able to score, taking the scoreline to 2 - 2. Halftime score was 2 - 2. Sous-marin enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 59 percent of possession.

C. Otim of Sous-marin seemed to be floating in the air as he elegantly headed in to make the score 3 - 2 after a corner kick that was nicely executed by D. Bajope. A. Mwisaka had a fantastic opportunity to put Sous-marin up another goal 82 minutes into the match, but he fired just over the crossbar. E. Akena was called on to replace Njeru's S. Magumba after 83 minutes following a nasty collision. 86 minutes into the game, R. Makalama had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came C. Ojok. Sous-marin had most of the ball, with 56 percent of possession.

R. Odoch performed admirably for Sous-marin. However, N. Lamwaka made a disastrous appearance. The most dominating Njeru player was without a doubt K. Masaba. H. Makalama was a disappointment, however. The match ends 3 - 2.
