(389280402)

19-08-2012 15.45
Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 43555 to
White Hart Lane Arena.
Peter was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Josef Dieter Schömig and
Sándor Gér.
spurs had chosen a strategic 2-5-3 formation.
They fielded: Afghani - Strahler, Yanchev - Silventoinen, Vercher, Galletto, Dunlea, van Alebeek - Renna, Motameni, Chitforoush.
Gunners decided to use a 2-5-3 set up.
Starters: Santana - Khayyami, Simón Abril - Ghanad Pour, Szwech, Davidsson, Saúde, Roshan - Dietze, Javanmard, Kobakhidze.
spurs were mostly trying to use their skill at attacking on the flanks.
Counter-attacking seemed to be the preferred strategy of Gunners.
The celebrations in the stands could only mean one thing -
R. Strahler's free kick had found the back of the net and put spurs ahead 1 - 0!
T. Roshan's early cross saw the defenders caught out of position and the alert
K. Javanmard was able to pounce and roll the ball past the hapless goalkeeper to score for Gunners. 1 - 1.
Attacking on the wings was the choice for spurs, and they were successfully passing the ball from the middle to the wings to attack.
With 16 minutes played, the home side managed to get a 2 - 1 lead as
L. Vercher flipped the ball in after a cross from the right.
19 minutes into the match the visitors levelled the score at 2 - 2 as
R. Simón Abril struck home from a rebound off the crossbar, following a shot from the right.
2 - 2 was the score after the first half.
spurs enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 64 percent of possession.
The crowd groaned its disapproval when
R. Strahler missed a free kick that would have given spurs the lead after 69 minutes.
70 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a spurs substitution.
A. Fenech came on for
A. Afghani.
After 71 minutes, the spurs coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving
G. Renna off the field.
E. Hatefi took his place.
74 minutes in, Gunners's
R. Simón Abril received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first.
spurs were very close to putting themselves one up after 76 minutes as
P. Chitforoush got through on the left, but failing in concentration, he shot the ball wide.
spurs had most of the ball, with 62 percent of possession.
spurs's best player was
E. Galletto.
However,
A. Fenech made a disastrous appearance.
Gunners's top performer was clearly
D. Kobakhidze.
T. Roshan was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 2 - 2.
