Clear skies welcomed the 66842 spectators who had made their way to
Seksløberen Arena.
Magnus Falkenlind was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Wisi Schenk and
Carlo Wijkstra.
Fans of both teams had been eagerly awaiting this
København derby and were doing their best to outshout their opponents.
Seksløberen decided to use a 3-5-2 set up.
Starters: Garde - Escobar, Marvits, Wiktorczyk - Vester, Tollerud, Kongshøj, Svenninggaard, Hemmingsen - Sanquer, Rump.
Svenne started off with a 3-5-2 lineup.
The following players had been chosen: Kleve - Riis Jeppesen, Grootaert, Reingruber - Salaun, Mosqueira, Hornemann, Huber-Schum, Perinu - Hornemann, Grossler.
Some quick footwork on the left side of the field 15 minutes into the match left Svenne's
B. Hornemann completely free to score. 0 - 1 for the visitors.
The referee showed Svenne's
M. Huber-Schum the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge.
One of many good crosses from
H. Hemmingsen on the wing was received and skillfully taken care of by
F. Sanquer, who scored for Seksløberen. 1 - 1
The corner kick from
F. Sanquer was powerfully met by the head of
T. Marvits to make the score 2 - 1.
33 minutes into the match, Seksløberen's
F. Sanquer demonstrated his famed speed as he raced past his marker and passed the ball to
N. Rump who chipped it in for 3 - 1.
Svenne were desperate to get a goal back and pushed forward through the middle 34 minutes into the game. After a scramble in the box, the ball dropped to
A. Reingruber, who smashed it home to make the score 3 - 2.
After 40 minutes, Svenne used a short break in the game to take new instructions from their coach.
40 minutes into the match the visitors levelled the score at 3 - 3 as
M. Huber-Schum struck home from a rebound off the crossbar, following a shot from the right.
Down the middle came
B. Hornemann, making a fantastic play that nearly had Svenne take the lead after 42 minutes, but
N. Garde preserved the tie.
A mistake by the home side's central defence after 44 minutes allowed
E. Grossler to score for Svenne. The scoreboard now read 3 - 4.
3 - 4 was the halftime score.
Svenne enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 54 percent of possession.
Svenne had a magnificent opportunity after 52 minutes as
H. Grootaert hit the ball hard from the edge of the penalty box. However, the shot went wide.
With 55 minutes played, after a good run down the left,
H. Hemmingsen went down looking for a penalty after a challenge from the visitors' right fullback, but the referee waved play on, and later warned him for diving.
58 minutes into the game,
P. Kongshøj had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came
C. Liebold.
B. Hornemann left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 70 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead.
K. Ankipāns was the replacement.
As the captain was no longer on the pitch,
N. Riis Jeppesen took over the role of being the Svenne captain.
Svenne claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 59 percent.
The most dominating Seksløberen player was without a doubt
N. Tollerud.
C. Liebold turned in a dismal performance, however.
Svenne's top performer was clearly
J. Mosqueira.
On the other hand,
H. Grootaert's play was disheartening.
