The 54471 spectators at Terror Dome were in for an afternoon of sunshine. Jupp Jüterbog was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Gary Whitehouse and Ignas Eikelenboom. The derby had been the talk of København all week and fans of both teams could be seen throughout the stadium. Toxteth tactics involved an interesting 2-5-3 combination. Lineup: Halay - Ryborg, Cohen - Selbur, Meirov, Borgholm, Nikačević, Folden - Baastrup, Tornøe, Knudsen.

FCF decided to use a 2-5-3 set up. Starters: Nibe - Bryde Andersen, Lyhne - Kirk Jensen, Fadl, Bøge, Vandahl, Sellerup - Asp, Sørensen, Grønlund.

With 32 minutes played S. Selbur almost put the home team one ahead on a cross coming in from the right, but the shot went just wide. The home side put themselves ahead 1 - 0 after 34 minutes courtesy of a breakthrough from S. Selbur, who scored with a stunning volley following a cross from the right wing. With 35 minutes played, the excellent ball from the wing by Toxteth's D. Folden reached K. Tornøe's head, and he is not one to miss such an opportunity - 2 - 0. FCF were desperate to get a goal back and pushed forward through the middle 36 minutes into the game. After a scramble in the box, the ball dropped to J. Grønlund, who smashed it home to make the score 2 - 1. It was a hot and sunny day, and several players seemed worn out. Maybe this was why D. Folden found an unusual amount of space for his snappy footwork. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. K. Tornøe squirmed through their central defence after 38 minutes, increasing the lead to 3 - 1. Toxteth solidified their lead at the 39 minute mark, as V. Knudsen dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 4 - 1. Against a lesser team, Toxteth could very well have succeeded with their smart indirect free kick routine after 40 minutes. A trio of passes took the ball all the way past the defenders, but by then the intended recipient was already blocked off and the keeper could make a leisurely save. It was 4 - 1 at the break. Possession in this half belonged to Toxteth, who controlled the ball 55 percent of the time.

The visitors replied 65 minutes into the game, reducing the home side's lead to 4 - 2, as J. Grønlund dashed up the middle, easily lobbing the ball over the home team's keeper. The guests got an opportunity to reduce after 70 minutes and G. Asp took it from the penalty spot, scoring easily for 4 - 3. Toxteth's S. Selbur increased the lead to 5 - 3, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 74 minutes. FCF's J. Grønlund got himself booked for a foul. Toxteth put themselves up 6 - 3 when N. Baastrup broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake. FCF kept trying to force their way through on the right side and T. Kirk Jensen got his chance after 84 minutes, but the home side's defence held their position and stopped the attack. Toxteth had most of the ball, with 55 percent of possession.

Toxteth's top performer was clearly V. Knudsen. On the other hand, A. Ryborg's play was disheartening. The most dominating FCF player was without a doubt G. Asp. O. Sellerup turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 6 - 3.
