The 58218 fans in attendance at Mindeparken were roasting in the hot sun. Alois Sonnemans was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Nicolas Luder and Bora Elit. Midtbyen started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. They fielded: Gallach - Ford, Deutlmoser, Franch - Ivănescu, Johansen, Harding, Enevold, Lužanskis - Bak, Gandrup.

Schnors tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. Starters: Massari - Payten, Radenacker, Jensen - Gotfredsen, Prammer, Skovgaard, Mondie, Koç - Schaefer, Dossobuono.

5 minutes had elapsed when a great chance for Midtbyen to take the lead after a good cross from the right found S. Johansen alone with the keeper, but he chipped it to the wrong side of the post. 14 minutes into the match Schnors's M. Dossobuono viciously shoved another player from behind while going for a loose ball and was sent off the pitch with a red card. C. Payten was handed the Schnors captain's armband. Midtbyen were forced into a substitution as F. Enevold couldn't continue due to some rough treatment, forcing M. Reinwald to come in off the bench. S. Johansen couldn't do anything to stop the technically gifted A. Schaefer as he dodged past on his way to scoring a wonderful goal for Schnors - 0 - 1! With the crowd on their feet chanting wildly, some great moves down the right hand side after 34 minutes gave Midtbyen a wonderful opportunity to level the score, and B. Bak stepped up to the challenge. 1 - 1 With 38 minutes played, the visitors broke through on the right after some poor defending. K. Koç put the ball away for 1 - 2. S. Radenacker of Schnors was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. 1 - 2 was the halftime score. Midtbyen claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 53 percent.

With 55 minutes played, the Midtbyen coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around. G. Maréchal came on, P. Franch had to leave the fray. Due to some great work on the right wing Midtbyen's B. Bak was able to even the score after 56 minutes to make the score 2 - 2. The sunny day didn't make things easy for G. Prammer who didn't seem his usual powerful self on the pitch. The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to C. Ford, but the Midtbyen player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 3 - 2! Some brilliant football from the visitors' right wing resulted in a levelling of the score as Schnors's S. Radenacker put the ball in the onion bag after 78 minutes to make it 3 - 3. Midtbyen could have put themselves ahead after 80 minutes but C. Ford missed a volley shot on a ball coming in from the right. Midtbyen fans held their breath as C. Ford scampered down the left side. He successfully avoided all challenges and cracked home the shot for 4 - 3! Midtbyen had most of the ball, with 55 percent of possession.

The most dominating Midtbyen player was without a doubt E. Gandrup. C. Ford turned in a dismal performance, however. Most important Schnors player was A. Schaefer. S. Radenacker was a disappointment, however. The match ends 4 - 3.
