previous 10/10 next 2/10  FCWWFY 0 - 0 Xs (389418087)

50528 punters turned up at FC Wolvers Gigantium, and despite threatening clouds on the horizon, no rain came. Raikko Pant was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Franciszek Konkol and Danny Banin. A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for FCWWFY. The following players took the field: Zubieta - Armada, Roturier, Nilis - Karan, Maher, Hamburger, Vilpanen, Thorhauge - Kister, Cánovas.

Xs tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination. The following players had been chosen: Cabezudo - Hartmann, Foged, Akselsen, Gerdenitsch - Aaen, Olrik, Outinen, Wieliński - Klavsen, Favero.

It was an obvious ambition of FCWWFY to use their ability at attacking on the flanks. E. Favero came close to putting the visiting team one up 26 minutes into the match, following a solo raid down the middle, but J. Zubieta managed to tip the ball to a corner. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, V. Hamburger got himself booked. The manager of FCWWFY was not happy. Attacking on the wings was the choice for FCWWFY, and they were successfully passing the ball from the middle to the wings to attack. The referee showed FCWWFY's R. Thorhauge the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. After 35 minutes FCWWFY's F. Nilis contracted a slight foot injury, but didn't want to leave the game. FCWWFY were determined to attack on the wing and their central attempts were constantly abandoned in favour of the wings. At 36 minutes played, R. Kister came in from the right with the intention of giving FCWWFY the lead, but his rocket of a shot rattled the crossbar. 42 minutes had elapsed when a great chance for FCWWFY to take the lead after a good cross from the right found V. Hamburger alone with the keeper, but he chipped it to the wrong side of the post. It was 0 - 0 at the break. Possession in this half belonged to FCWWFY, who controlled the ball 52 percent of the time.

As the 70 minute mark approached, the Xs coach decided it was time for a substitution. E. Favero reluctantly made way for C. Örjansson on the pitch. After 71 minutes, the FCWWFY coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving V. Hamburger off the field. T. Engelund took his place. The coach of FCWWFY wanted to try to change things around after 74 minutes, and gave new tactical instructions. 85 minutes into the game, Xs wanted to bring some new energy to their game. V. Aaen gave S. Bak a quick hug as he left the field. Xs had most of the ball, with 51 percent of possession.

FCWWFY's top performer was clearly R. Kister. T. Engelund was a disappointment, however. J. Cabezudo performed admirably for Xs. On the other hand, S. Bak's play was disheartening. The match ends 0 - 0.
