Clouds darkened the skies at Alternativet til Aab as 47849 spectators turned up for the match. Gregor Paal was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Ove Tryggvesson and Riccardo Ornaghi. Counter-attacking seemed to be the preferred strategy of Sydhavsøerne. Traktor mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle. After 36 minutes Traktor's L. Rath-Friis limped slightly after a late challenge, but he was able to continue. T. Juhl's early cross saw the defenders caught out of position and the alert G. Jokumsen was able to pounce and roll the ball past the hapless goalkeeper to score for Sydhavsøerne. 1 - 0. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave F. Krogh from Sydhavsøerne a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 41 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! J. Maarup was called on to replace Sydhavsøerne's T. Juhl after 43 minutes following a nasty collision. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 0. Traktor claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 53 percent.

After 73 minutes Sydhavsøerne tried to exploit their counterattacking skills, unfortunately, S. Bundgaard's shot sailed wide after his break down the right. The game was close to savage at times, and Sydhavsøerne's F. Krogh received a second yellow card after 74 minutes; his ticket out of the game. Traktor were forced into a substitution as Y. Limberger couldn't continue due to some rough treatment, forcing R. Toxo to come in off the bench. H. Traberg could have put Sydhavsøerne up one more, but he fired into the side netting after breaking free on the left after 82 minutes. The visitors kept the pressure on to tie the game when, after 85 minutes, M. Kromann broke through the centre and found himself alone with the keeper. B. Jensen made a great block, though. Sydhavsøerne's defence sent a ball soaring up the middle on a beautiful counterattack with 86 minutes gone, but İ. Urun's finish was met by the reaching hands of the keeper. Traktor's H. Seland left the field after 89 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was T. Kenéz. N. Krogh could have increased the lead after 89 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Traktor, with 59 percent of the ball.

Most important Sydhavsøerne player was İ. Urun. J. Maarup was a disappointment, however. F. Gual performed admirably for Traktor. On the other hand, T. Kenéz's play was disheartening. The match ends 1 - 0.
