55881 spectators had come to
Miles Ahead Arena this cloudy day.
Finn Spottag was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Mats Drakmo and
Remko Cissé.
A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Miles.
The following players took the field: Fristrup - Krüger Nielsen, Saastamoinen, Ledl, Thorning - Giuliato, Kauškalis, Sønksen, Delatte - Smolek, Sánchez.
Timmay! decided to use a 4-4-2 set up.
Lineup: Fevgas - Jespersen, Hubert, Mićović, Gregorio - Carozzi, Giotto, Glam, Bjerre - Manolov, Tuura.
26 minutes into the match, Timmay! nearly took the lead, as
D. Manolov broke through on the right.
K. Fristrup made the save, however.
Miles created a good opportunity to score 27 minutes into the match when
V. Delatte's hooked ball from the left created a scuffle in front of the goal, and the visitors' defenders had a hard time clearing the ball.
There was concern in the stands when, at the 31 minute mark, Timmay!'s
D. Hubert hit the ground hard, but he refused the attention of the trainer and rejoined his teammates on the pitch.
0 - 0 was the score after the first half.
Miles claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 63 percent.
Some great play up the middle by Miles led to a chance for
M. Sønksen to score after 49 minutes, but the shot hit the crossbar.
After some beautiful movement down the left wing,
S. Saastamoinen scored for Miles putting them ahead 1 - 0, after 64 minutes.
With 66 minutes played,
A. Smolek of Miles fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving.
With 71 minutes played, Miles put themselves up 2 - 0 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to
M. Sønksen, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home.
At this point, it was obvious that the players of Miles lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented.
The home side's
U. Ledl came close to extending the lead 78 minutes into the game. His shot came in from the right hand side but
T. Fevgas managed to save it with an unbelievable reaction stop.
Miles's
V. Delatte left the field after 83 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was
E. Buron.
Possession in this half belonged to Miles, who controlled the ball 66 percent of the time.
M. Sønksen performed admirably for Miles.
However,
E. Buron made a disastrous appearance.
Most important Timmay! player was
F. Bjerre.
On the other hand,
J. Mićović's play was disheartening.
The match ends 2 - 0.
