Boys 2 - 0 Stolthed
(389429888)

01-07-2012 16.00
Clouds darkened the skies at
The Ground where Boys become men as 33609 spectators turned up for the match.
Jens Kärrstål was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Kostas Siopis and
Auseklis Dabaris.
Boys tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination.
They fielded: Møller Hansen - Ernst, Davidsen, Sletskov - Risum, Stausholm, Vodsgaard, Justsen, Sønderkær - Moritzen, Ebbesen.
Stolthed started off with a 3-4-2 lineup.
The following players took the field: Eder - Hoszowski, Kariti, Pugejs - Gerginov, Papiewski, Grozea, Tragter - Ervasti, Deidda.
Boys used their ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings.
The wings were the focus of most of Stolthed's attacks today.
7 minutes in, Stolthed appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only
weak.
With 29 minutes played
T. Stausholm almost put the home team one ahead on a cross coming in from the right, but the shot went just wide.
30 minutes of the match played, and a comedy of errors by the home side gave the visitors a chance at the lead, but
K. Tragter, after finding himself dashing down on goal from the left with only the keeper to beat, sliced his shot horribly wide.
Boys took the lead, 1 - 0, after a penalty 33 minutes into the match.
J. Ernst scored from the penalty spot.
Boys solidified their lead at the 39 minute mark, as
S. Ebbesen dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 2 - 0.
2 - 0 was the score after the first half.
Boys claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 73 percent.
A review of the gameplan helped Stolthed get back to a
solid organisation when the referee blew his whistle again.
Although the whole team were struggling to impress, Stolthed's
M. Papiewski was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 55 minutes.
J. Falgeras was given a chance to change things around.
T. Stausholm dispatched a majestic long shot 70 minutes into the match, but missed the goal by a few metres.
S. Justsen should probably have put his team up another goal after 75 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by
D. Eder kept the visitors in the game.
Possession in this half belonged to Boys, who controlled the ball 71 percent of the time.
Boys's top performer was clearly
S. Ebbesen.
S. Justsen was a disappointment, however.
N. Gerginov performed admirably for Stolthed.
On the other hand,
P. Hoszowski's play was disheartening.
The match ends 2 - 0.
