Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 30042 to Nisset Stadion. Marco Bini was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Mikko Tokola and Brendon Mareich. NFC had chosen a strategic 5-4-1 formation. The following players had been chosen: Bakawi - Cicatiello, Bonichini, García, Gorban, Westh - Čić, Kremnitzmueller, Coser, Klapan - Grunckis.

Dinamo decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. Starters: Perfilov - Simon, Tibin, Baadsgaard - Juul, Nakvas, Adelholm, Langelund, Puronen - Crespán, Næss.

Dinamo were mostly trying to use their skill at attacking on the flanks. B. Čić has acquired a talent for predicting the movements of the opposing defence over the years and this almost resulted in a goal 2 minutes into the match. This was a good period for the visitors, with several opportunities to take the lead, particularly when E. Simon slipped through the defence on the right to come up alone against A. Bakawi, but the home side's keeper showed his lightning reflexes. 5 minutes into the game, S. Næss almost gave the visitors the lead, as he clipped a delicate lob over the keeper, but the ball glanced harmlessly off the crossbar. Dinamo's L. Adelholm gave the visitors a 0 - 1 lead after 22 minutes with a superb strike from the right. J. Crespán came close to extending the visitors' lead when he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal after a pass through the middle. He tried to lift the ball over A. Bakawi but overcooked it and hit the bar instead. With 31 minutes played, A. Nakvas of Dinamo fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. 0 - 1 was the score after the first half. Possession in this half belonged to Dinamo, who controlled the ball 56 percent of the time.

Content with how the game was proceeding, the Dinamo coach let L. Løvelund replace A. Nakvas after 50 minutes. With 61 minutes played, seemingly due to lack of experience, L. Løvelund needlessly tripped an opponent just outside the penalty area, but the free kick that followed didn't succeed. 63 minutes into the match, NFC's S. Grunckis maneuvered his way around the opposition on the left flank, delighting the crowd with his twists and turns. The effort paid off as the ball found the back of the net, evening the score at 1 - 1. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, B. Čić got himself booked. The manager of NFC was not happy. S. Coser caused the crowd to go mental with his goal up the middle after 84 minutes. This gave NFC the 2 - 1 lead. The home side's T. Klapan came close to extending the lead 86 minutes into the game. His shot came in from the right hand side but I. Perfilov managed to save it with an unbelievable reaction stop. NFC managed to extend their lead to 3 - 1 when S. Grunckis cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper. K. Westh of NFC was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. Dinamo enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 57 percent of possession.

NFC's best player was S. Grunckis. T. Gorban on the other hand, had a terrible day. J. Crespán performed admirably for Dinamo. E. Simon turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 3 - 1.
