Dark skies made the crowd of 21570 at Vestjylland a little nervous, but the rain held off. Jean-Robert Istas was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Peter Börjesson and Timo Post. Philipsen was shown a yellow card after 34 minutes for slicing down an opponent. Englene had to make a substitution after 35 minutes. E. Rubinke limped off the field and was replaced by N. After 55 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by S. Ben Slimene might have resulted in another goal for Vestjyder. However, B. Petersen made a spectacular save. After 63 minutes Englene's B. Petersen contracted a slight foot injury, but didn't want to leave the game. With 66 minutes played, E. Härmä could have brought this one home for Vestjyder as he charged up on the left, but his hooked ball went just a bit too high. O. Pesti's early cross saw the defenders caught out of position and the alert E. Härmä was able to pounce and roll the ball past the hapless goalkeeper to score for Vestjyder. 2 - 0. Confident in their lead, Vestjyder's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Vestjyder, with 55 percent of the ball.

Vestjyder's best player was E. Härmä. F. Saenz Romero was a disappointment, however. B. Ankerdal performed admirably for Englene. On the other hand, N. Stauning's play was disheartening. The match ends 2 - 0.
