Steelers 1 - 1 Eintracht (389433054)

Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 35000 at Molten Sky today. Franck Herrou was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Jérôme Louette and Joonas Hattula. Steelers tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination. They fielded: Qvist - Ingemann, Iudica, Aagren, Balzano - Buus, Sampayo, Zevenbergen, Svejstrup - Ziezenis, Mølbach Olsen.

Eintracht started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. The following players took the field: Melson - Kiilerich, Wollesen, Trasborg - Eriksen, Præstegaard, Bjerrum, Færgemann, Isbrand - Inácio, Gohlke.

Steelers mostly relied on their long range shooting ability. After a fine move down the middle J. Mølbach Olsen nearly gave the home side a goal after 12 minutes. However the finishing shot went just wide. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, O. Trasborg got himself booked. The manager of Eintracht was not happy. 19 minutes in, Steelers appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only inadequate. Boom! What a strike by Steelers's E. Ingemann! Firing in from 35 yards after 20 minutes, that is probably one of the best goals he's ever scored! 1 - 0. It was obvious that the tactic of the day for Steelers was to go for long shots, but in order to score they have to do better than the shooting attempt from G. Balzano after 23 minutes, which was a total failure. O. Trasborg finished off a quick charge from the left of the field by chipping the ball just past the home side's keeper, making the score 1 - 1 24 minutes into the match. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 1. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Steelers, with 51 percent of the ball.

The Steelers players spent the break getting a rerun of the team's tactical organisation and regained a solid organisation when the game started again. As the 51 minute mark approached, the Steelers coach decided it was time for a substitution. E. Aagren reluctantly made way for M. Lau on the pitch. Many thought Å. Buus ought to have been awarded a penalty 63 minutes into the game, as he went down trying to dribble around V. Melson after a determined run through the middle. H. Qvist looked great 68 minutes into the match after stopping a shot from the middle of the penalty area from the visitors' M. Gohlke. T. Kiilerich had a good try after 81 minutes, coming in on a fine move from the left, but the ball went wide. Possession in this half belonged to Steelers, who controlled the ball 53 percent of the time.

Steelers's best player was K. Ziezenis. P. Iudica turned in a dismal performance, however. The most dominating Eintracht player was without a doubt M. Bjerrum. On the other hand, O. Trasborg's play was disheartening. The match ends 1 - 1.
