bamsebrød 5 - 1 Chelsea
(389433887)

22-07-2012 16.00
A brilliantly sunny day had enticed a crowd of 22907 to
Nightmare Park.
Jürgen Stredele was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Andreas Schuh and
Gerwin van Beurden.
bamsebrød had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
The following players had been chosen: Valls - Grøn Nielsen, Karlsen, Hoogzaad - Brixen, Mammolotti, Fülep, Fristrup, Home - Have Christensen, Matei.
Chelsea decided to use a 4-5-1 set up.
Starters: Otaño - Priebe, Žoviak, Mejía, Andrisani - Ellingsen, Bergmark, Guthardt, Drapenko, Faccenda - Armberger.
S. Matei gave bamsebrød the lead with a beautiful free kick after 19 minutes. 1 - 0!
S. Mammolotti should probably have put his team up another goal after 24 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by
N. Otaño kept the visitors in the game.
With 25 minutes played,
L. Žoviak came in from the right and could have evened the score, but the defenders successfully repelled the attack by Chelsea.
bamsebrød's
K. Fristrup was shown a yellow card after 34 minutes for slicing down an opponent.
bamsebrød's
N. Brixen had a good first touch on the flank, but was crowded and, after a change of plan, sent the ball to
R. Home who somehow managed to curl the ball wide.
S. Mammolotti neatly controlled the ball after a short corner, and knocked it on to
T. Fülep who had the whole net open before him, but only managed to hit the post.
After 41 minutes, bamsebrød's
S. Matei found the back of the goal with a beautiful free kick. 2 - 0.
It was 2 - 0 at the break.
bamsebrød had most of the ball, with 51 percent of possession.
Unhappy with the result so far in the game, the Chelsea manager used a brief break in play after 46 minutes to give the players new directives.
bamsebrød increased the lead as
S. Matei struck to make the score 3 - 0 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper.
By then
S. Matei had scored three goals - a hat trick!
Chelsea needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 70 minutes
G. Mejía made way for
T. Flejsborg.
The heat made it a terrible day for
S. Matei, who seemed unable to keep up with the other players.
After 71 minutes, Chelsea used a short break in the game to take new instructions from their coach.
Things were deteriorating for the away team as bamsebrød scored another to make it 4 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for
R. Home after 75 minutes.
Some things can only be learned through experience, and
S. Mammolotti should take his lesson to heart after nearly gifting Chelsea a goal with 76 minutes of the match played.
Chelsea fought on and, after 84 minutes,
B. Armberger was able to reduce the deficit to 4 - 1 after some excellent moves on the right side were finished off with an incredibly clever chip.
A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of bamsebrød to 5 - 1 as
S. Matei finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle.
At this point, it was obvious that the players of bamsebrød lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented.
This part of the game was a standoff between the teams in terms of possession.
bamsebrød's top performer was clearly
N. Have Christensen.
T. Grøn Nielsen was a disappointment, however.
The most dominating Chelsea player was without a doubt
Y. Guthardt.
On the other hand,
N. Otaño's play was disheartening.
The match ends 5 - 1.
