previous 5/10 next 7/10  Mitmais 0 - 4 2002 (389459647)

Dark skies made the crowd of 39418 at Mitmais Arena a little nervous, but the rain held off. Hans Sennels was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Irinel Ciora and Nedim Buol. Mitmais had chosen a strategic 2-5-3 formation. Starters: Arreda - Chanson, Durlinger - Cinder, Sabino, Kagie, Bakhtar, Michalik - Arentoft, Gilbert, Enefeldt.

2002 decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. They fielded: Junayd - Pilegaard, Thomsen, Smedegaard - Özaras, Pinstrup, Eskildsen, Poulsen, Bach - Đức Nhân, Bertelsen.

2002's A. Smedegaard got himself booked for a foul. A loud groan was heard from the fans of Mitmais, as F. Enefeldt left the pitch in too much pain to finish the match. P. Pedersen took his place on the field. 2002's goal to make the score 0 - 1 came via a questionable penalty, but K. Bach struck it home without a second thought. 2002's K. Bach was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 30 minutes. With 39 minutes played, L. Đức Nhân of 2002 fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. After 40 minutes of game time, M. Poulsen had an excellent opportunity to add to the visitors' lead, clipping a volley hooked in from the right, but F. Arreda was in the right place and tipped the ball over for a corner. P. Kagie of Mitmais was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. 0 - 1 was the halftime score. Possession in this half belonged to 2002, who controlled the ball 59 percent of the time.

Had it not been for one of the home defenders, L. Đức Nhân would have put 2002 up another goal 70 minutes into the match with his audacious lob from the right wing. A drive down the left side allowed O. Eskildsen to get in close and score another goal for 2002 after 79 minutes, taking the score to 0 - 2. 81 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 0 - 3 as M. Poulsen finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick. 2002 increased their lead after 82 minutes when A. Smedegaard broke through on the right, upping the score to 0 - 4, much to the home crowd's dismay. After this, you could see that the players of 2002 were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals. 2002 had most of the ball, with 63 percent of possession.

Mitmais's top performer was clearly K. Gilbert. P. Pedersen turned in a dismal performance, however. 2002's best player was L. Đức Nhân. However, Ö. Özaras made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 0 - 4.
