Clear skies welcomed the 23969 spectators who had made their way to Fyn Arena. Sten Bokmo was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Mikael L. Marcusson and Fernando Chatton. Midtafrika decided to use a 4-3-3 set up. The following players took the field: Kanté - Matsson, Bourdier, Kanaitis, Bartoszek - Teodorescu, Andersen, Bryde - Engelund, Test, Ancsin.

It was an obvious ambition of OB to use their ability at attacking on the flanks. Midtafrika tried to focus their attacks down the middle. Midtafrika's M. Andersen gave the visitors a 0 - 1 lead after 29 minutes with a superb strike from the right. V. Vlatković made a superb strike after 32 minutes with a shot straight in front of the goal after a long ball through the middle, but one of the visitors' defenders got a foot in at the last second and warded it off for a corner. 34 minutes in, and OB were able to score the equalising goal to make it 1 - 1 when A. Morales picked up a pass coming in from the right and chipped it past the away team's keeper. Attacking on the wings was the choice for OB, and they were successfully passing the ball from the middle to the wings to attack. OB created a good opportunity to score 35 minutes into the match when N. Del Valle's hooked ball from the left created a scuffle in front of the goal, and the visitors' defenders had a hard time clearing the ball. 1 - 1 was the score after the first half. OB claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 60 percent.

OB made a bid to take the lead as a ball coming in on the right hand side left N. Del Valle completely alone with keeper G. Kanté, who made a spectacular block. After some beautiful movement down the left wing, C. Munteanu scored for OB putting them ahead 2 - 1, after 74 minutes. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave L. Ancsin from Midtafrika a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 75 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! The referee was not popular with the home supporters after he awarded Midtafrika a controversial penalty after 78 minutes. B. Bourdier made no mistake, levelling the score at 2 - 2. 85 minutes into the match and the home team took a 3 - 2 lead after breaking through on the left. The scorer for OB was M. Buijs. OB had most of the ball, with 65 percent of possession.

The most dominating OB player was without a doubt C. Munteanu. J. Vavřinec turned in a dismal performance, however. M. Test performed admirably for Midtafrika. G. Kanté on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 3 - 2.
