Juve tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination.
Starters: Nyholm - Stjernholm, Elkjær, Tøgersen - Danielsen, Tang, Thorning, Kofoed, Nissen - Elkjær, Jakobs-Kohn.
A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for byrum.
They fielded: Stan - Giralte, Gould, Eliassen - Hodovanec, Sağcan, Eriksen, Martello, Hieck - Morrell, Brinser.
byrum displayed their ability to play creatively.
Juve were very close to putting themselves one up after 6 minutes as
M. Elkjær got through on the left, but failing in concentration, he shot the ball wide.
At 10 minutes played,
M. Tang came in from the right with the intention of giving Juve the lead, but his rocket of a shot rattled the crossbar.
After 22 minutes Juve's
H. Jakobs-Kohn contracted a slight foot injury, but didn't want to leave the game.
S. Nissen caught everyone off guard with a great opening pass - but unfortunately
H. Jakobs-Kohn was as surprised by the move as anybody else, and managed to miss the extraordinary opportunity.
They were singing the praises of
M. Tang 25 minutes into the match after his speculative chip from the middle of the penalty box found its way over the visitors' keeper to make the score 1 - 0 to Juve.
A cross coming in on the right hand side left
C. Morrell alone in front of the goal after 39 minutes but his shot was woeful.
The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 0.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Juve, with 58 percent of the ball.
There was concern in the stands when, at the 61 minute mark, byrum's
J. Eliassen hit the ground hard, but he refused the attention of the trainer and rejoined his teammates on the pitch.
After 65 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by
S. Nissen might have resulted in another goal for Juve. However,
C. Stan made a spectacular save.
byrum had a chance to level the score as
V. Hieck suddenly found himself free in the middle of the box with only the keeper to beat, but he misjudged the finish, and only managed to hit the bar.
Juve had most of the ball, with 56 percent of possession.
M. Tang performed admirably for Juve.
However,
W. Danielsen made a disastrous appearance.
byrum's best player was
A. Martello.
V. Hieck turned in a dismal performance, however.
The match ends 1 - 0.
