Clouds darkened the skies at
Danish Whites Arena as 39118 spectators turned up for the match.
Edi Brumă was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Felipe Jauregui Bereciartu and
Svante Thorstensson.
Fans of both teams had been eagerly awaiting this
Roskilde derby and were doing their best to outshout their opponents.
Danish decided to use a 3-5-2 set up.
The following players took the field: Lindrup - Bogdanović, Gambirasio, Søndergaard - Burkal, Agger, Rabbow, Salskov, Broge - Barbagli, Tomescu.
Anatomi had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
The following players had been chosen: Henriksson - Højsgaard, Villumsen, Aagesen - Sausiņš, Anelli, Havik, Di Giovanni, Slănină - Theodorakos, Borre.
Danish took a creative approach on the field.
Anatomi's
A. Sausiņš was shown a yellow card after 17 minutes for slicing down an opponent.
They were singing the praises of
N. Barbagli 27 minutes into the match after his speculative chip from the middle of the penalty box found its way over the visitors' keeper to make the score 1 - 0 to Danish.
Danish increased the lead as
N. Barbagli struck to make the score 2 - 0 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper.
M. Slănină managed to make an excellent pass from the flank, but
A. Sausiņš was not as skillfull in scoring.
In a rapid move 36 minutes into the match,
S. Borre of Anatomi lost his man and passed the ball to the unmarked
K. Theodorakos who easily hit it home to make it 2 - 1. Luckily the ref didn't see him taunting the opposing fans in celebration - naughty boy!
Against a lesser team, Danish could very well have succeeded with their smart indirect free kick routine after 40 minutes. A trio of passes took the ball all the way past the defenders, but by then the intended recipient was already blocked off and the keeper could make a leisurely save.
The visitors kept the pressure on to tie the game when, after 41 minutes,
K. Theodorakos broke through the centre and found himself alone with the keeper.
F. Lindrup made a great block, though.
A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Danish's
O. Søndergaard increasing the lead to 3 - 1.
43 minutes into the game, Danish were awarded a penalty that
F. Gambirasio turned into 4 - 1 without a problem.
4 - 1 was the score after the first half.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Danish, with 66 percent of the ball.
The visitors' right side was dangerous today;
S. Borre made the home team's keeper look foolish as he easily reduced the lead to make it 4 - 2 47 minutes into the match.
Although the whole team were struggling to impress, Anatomi's
N. Højsgaard was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 65 minutes.
F. Văleanu was given a chance to change things around.
Anatomi needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 65 minutes
S. Havik made way for
T. Panchev.
The bench was restless, and with 65 minutes passed Anatomi's coach gave
J. Vodsgaard the opportunity the player had been hoping for.
A. Sausiņš reluctantly left the field.
The Anatomi captaincy was handed to
S. Borre.
Danish solidified their lead at the 67 minute mark, as
N. Barbagli dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 5 - 2.
That made three goals for
N. Barbagli and he was marked down for the hat trick.
A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of Danish to 6 - 2 as
G. Tomescu finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle.
The players of Danish now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle.
Cheers filled the stadium as
N. Barbagli broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 7 - 2 to Danish.
The score became 8 - 2 at 86 minutes into the game, when Danish were given a penalty which
F. Gambirasio blasted straight down the middle giving the keeper no chance!
Danish enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 70 percent of possession.
Most important Danish player was
N. Barbagli.
F. Lindrup turned in a dismal performance, however.
The most dominating Anatomi player was without a doubt
V. Di Giovanni.
On the other hand,
J. Vodsgaard's play was disheartening.
The match ends 8 - 2.
