Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 12000 at Vedsted Arena today. Franz Decurtins was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Radosław Suchanowski and José Martín. Vedsted tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination. The following players took the field: Laursen - Ravnkilde, Dinesen, Bryld, Torp - Arendtsen, Hashimi, Kaltoft, Riis - Gjødvad, Gedsø.

A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Mads. They fielded: Schmeichel - Loebbeke, Smidt, Appel, Doneus - Pejtersen, Slotø, Eg, Riber - Halskov, Kirkeby.

Almost all the way down to the corner flag, Vedsted's L. Riis somehow managed to get a perfect pass into the middle, impossible to miss for S. Gjødvad, who struck for 1 - 0. K. Ravnkilde should probably have put his team up another goal after 4 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by R. Schmeichel kept the visitors in the game. Good work by the Mads defensive line after 5 minutes produced a good counterattack chance, which cut elegantly down the middle of the pitch and found N. Kirkeby alone in front of the goal, but his shot whistled just wide. A. Arendtsen could have increased the lead after 13 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. After 18 minutes, Vedsted's C. Kaltoft fell awkwardly, but was determined to stay in the match. That's the spirit! After 27 minutes Vedsted's S. Gjødvad limped slightly after a late challenge, but he was able to continue. S. Gjødvad had a fantastic opportunity to put Vedsted up another goal 28 minutes into the match, but he fired just over the crossbar. The referee showed Vedsted's A. Bryld the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Mads were forced into a substitution as H. Riber couldn't continue due to some rough treatment, forcing J. Stenak to come in off the bench. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Vedsted's K. Ravnkilde increasing the lead to 2 - 0. Halftime score was 2 - 0. Vedsted had most of the ball, with 66 percent of possession.

A. Arendtsen unleashed a swerving effort from the right that the visitors' keeper did well to tip wide. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave O. Torp from Vedsted a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 55 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! Vedsted put in a good effort on the right, but A. Arendtsen saw his volley fly wide of the mark 75 minutes into the game. After 77 minutes Mads's H. Doneus contracted a slight foot injury, but didn't want to leave the game. R. Eg of Mads received a yellow card after 81 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, J. Pejtersen got himself booked. The manager of Mads was not happy. With 83 minutes played, A. Arendtsen could have brought this one home for Vedsted as he charged up on the left, but his hooked ball went just a bit too high. There was concern in the stands when, at the 87 minute mark, Mads's R. Schmeichel hit the ground hard, but he refused the attention of the trainer and rejoined his teammates on the pitch. Vedsted enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 67 percent of possession.

The most dominating Vedsted player was without a doubt S. Gjødvad. On the other hand, M. Laursen's play was disheartening. Most important Mads player was A. Loebbeke. However, B. Appel made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 2 - 0.
