Due to an all-day shower, 37726 paying spectators got to see a match on a pitch-turned-bog at Doutor Eugénio Manhiça. Marcel Helmus was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Sijbrand van der Wolf and Augusto Moital. People from all over Cidade de Maputo had joined up for the derby. DW were mostly trying to use their skill at attacking on the flanks. For their match strategy, Björkhemmmarnas had decided to use their ability to counter-attack whenever possible. The home side put themselves ahead 1 - 0 after 5 minutes courtesy of a breakthrough from A. Cobbe, who scored with a stunning volley following a cross from the right wing. A. Miquel was having a great game - if anything the pouring rain seemed to be spurring him on! A well-executed free kick by J. Eça after 40 minutes made it 2 - 0 for DW. DW had a good opportunity to attack in the middle, but remembered their instructions to focus on wing attacks instead. C. Rossi of Björkhemmmarnas received a yellow card after 42 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. It was 2 - 0 at the break. DW enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 60 percent of possession.

A. Cobbe seems to have an uncanny ability to try the unusual. He nearly produced a great goal - unfortunately for DW his shot went just wide this time. Things were deteriorating for the away team as DW scored another to make it 3 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for J. Eça after 71 minutes. Confident in their lead, DW's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. DW had to manage with a reduced squad after 73 minutes, as Ü. Leidla got sent off for a needless foul away from the game's action. A counterattack by DW after 75 minutes could have resulted in a goal, but J. Eça, coming in on the left, couldn't get the shot off. After 85 minutes a well-practised indirect free kick routine by DW was easily anticipated by the defenders. The players forward were so well marked, they were left with few viable options. DW increased the lead as J. Eça struck to make the score 4 - 0 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper. That made three goals for J. Eça and he was marked down for the hat trick. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave A. Cobbe from DW a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 88 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! DW claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 59 percent.

DW's top performer was clearly A. Oude Sogtoen. However, J. Colina made a disastrous appearance. Most important Björkhemmmarnas player was D. Botelho Santos. M. Arco on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 4 - 0.
