(389951995)

01-07-2012 17.30
A brilliantly sunny day had enticed a crowd of 59317 to
Coloso de Santa Ursula.
Jan-Piet Franssen was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Hubert Henzl and
Rudolph Schipelbeil.
America started off with a 4-4-2 lineup.
They fielded: Klement - Schoch, Rommerskirchen, Windiks, Căruntu - Nanclares, Kernevičius, Grigore, Sáinz Quintana - Carmona, Yoder.
cuernavaca had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
The following players had been chosen: Nosti - Lernbeck, Davalos, Palomino - Esteves, Wahl, Tamayo, Berntorp, Beard - Jiménez, Dina.
Some quick footwork on the left side of the field 17 minutes into the match left cuernavaca's
D. Dina completely free to score. 0 - 1 for the visitors.
30 minutes into the match,
H. Berntorp came through the middle and almost added to his team's lead, but the shot went wide.
Coming in from the right, America had a good opportunity to convert on a counterattack after 31 minutes, but
J. Carmona's attempt to finish was easily stopped.
There was concern in the stands when, at the 37 minute mark, cuernavaca's
D. Jiménez hit the ground hard, but he refused the attention of the trainer and rejoined his teammates on the pitch.
The sun seemed to put
D. Dina in a great mood, and he showed off his technical skills all match long.
With a shot curled in from just outside the middle of the penalty area after 41 minutes played,
P. Yoder of America made the score 1 - 1.
H. Berntorp had a good try after 42 minutes, coming in on a fine move from the left, but the ball went wide.
1 - 1 was the score after the first half.
cuernavaca claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 51 percent.
51 minutes into the match and the home team took a 2 - 1 lead after breaking through on the left. The scorer for America was
H. Schoch.
A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of America to 3 - 1 as
H. Căruntu finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle.
After this, you could see that the players of America were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals.
cuernavaca managed to reduce the score to 3 - 2 as
H. Berntorp finished off a well-played combination from the left, easily carving through the defence.
The sunny day didn't make things easy for
N. Nanclares who didn't seem his usual powerful self on the pitch.
The visitors kept the pressure on to tie the game when, after 72 minutes,
D. Dina broke through the centre and found himself alone with the keeper.
R. Klement made a great block, though.
cuernavaca's right side looked dangerous 73 minutes in, but
R. Klement made a good save on
F. Lernbeck's hard shot to the top corner.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by America, with 51 percent of the ball.
America's best player was
J. Carmona.
On the other hand,
M. Windiks's play was disheartening.
cuernavaca's top performer was clearly
D. Dina.
D. Jiménez turned in a dismal performance, however.
The match ends 3 - 2.
